I have a per-diem job and an agency job, so I can work pretty much whatever I want to work. I like to work 24-32 hours a week: if I don't get enough hours at the per-diem job, I just let my agency know I'm available for more shifts with them.

I'm scheduled for 40 but I typically work closer to 50 because my job is next to impossible to finish in 8 hours.
Holy Moley! I feel you on that one. I'm expected to do about 12 hours of work in 8. If I'm only an hour late getting done, it's been a good day!
-Scheduled for 40, but usually closer to 52-54.
P.s. Afternoon shift loves to call off and poo poo on days @ my building.

I work to live... Not the opposite, so I work 20 hours a week.I was full-time, but I found I could only do so many days in a row before I lost my "good nurse" mojo.I live frugally so I can make it work... For right now.

36 only. I will start picking up extra shifts when I get adjusted to nights or moved to days....one or othe other. But for now, just 36.

Just dropped down to 36 hours from 40 and boy do I feel the difference! Only having to be at the hospital 3 days a week is SO nice. I have a 6 days off next month, no vacation time - just the way the schedule worked!
I occasionally pick up a shift at my old job if the nurse needs a day/night off.

12 hours a week, but I'll pick up the occasional 4hr/princess shift if you need to leave early.

I now work three 12 hour night shifts, have done it for over 15 years. Left a cake job in an electrophysiology lab where I worked 4 10 hour days and could leave when I was done and suck up the paid time off to compensate for my leaving. Went to traveling, no leaving early now But the three shifts are my preference. I can pick up as much OT as I wish if I am flexible in the area I work. I could easily bring home $4k a week... meh, not for me
