  1. This exactly.
  2. I like clogs. PEG tube clogs, NG clogs, PICC line clogs. All fun stuff. Work and work and then finally through!!
  3. I believe this is when the mother lifts the babies out?
  4. Red Bull on the nights I work. My Pepsi habit. I don't get yearly Pap smears.
  5. All line dressings are changed on Monday. Even rooms done by day shift and odd rooms done by nights.
  6. I think you may have misread what she said. She was saying that most nursing programs do not give you any experience in ambulatory nursing. She did not say that you won't get experience from ambulatory nursing.
  7. In some states (PA is one) you must be a certified school nurse.
  8. I work in a facility that has one. Her hours are 12-8:30 M-F. Somehow she convinced administration she should only do two admissions a shift - after that the charge nurse has to do them. It is a great position to have but causes a lot of animosity where I work
  9. Yep!!! Get called "off" for a 12 hour shift. But you only get four hours at a time. You have to call in at 10 to see if you need to go in at 11 and if you don't you need to call in at 2 to see if you need to go in for the last four.
  10. Go to a state school!!!! Edinboro university has a great nursing program - definitely check into the state schools first.
  11. My school had lecture on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and 12 hour clinicals on Saturday.
  12. I have not but my mother has (she is a nurse too). Her first one she was off 12 weeks and the second was 16 weeks. Mind you she had bunions the size of a small sedan. She second one involved breaking bones and such. She had no light duty because they only offer it if it is a workers comp claim I really hope yours is a shorter recovery time, like I said these were the biggest bunions ever, hopefully you didn't wait as long as she did. Good luck!
  13. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
  14. I really like the dresses. I see no problems working in them.
