How many got only 75 questions?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took the NCLEX yesterday morning and I was done in an hour and only got 75 questions. When it shut off, my heart sank and I felt sick. I had no dosage cal. questions(which I'm good at), lots of pharm.(which I suck at), and a ton of priority questions. I hate this waiting and it's only been one day. :o

I took my NCLEX today and it shut off at 75 questions. The funny thing is the last time I looked at the number of questions I saw 56 so when it shut off at 75 I was thinking that it had made a mistake and shut off too early because I am doing so bad. :uhoh3:

My feeling right now is JUST like everyone elses...although some of the questions I got were easy, meaning it was the obvious answer right there. I got, of course I did, priority: Who to see first, Who to call first, etc. I also got several questions on COPD, got some Diabetes, Endocrine, several on Maternity which surprised me, specific question on hypercalcemia, no med calculations, no Pedi or Growth and Development (THANK THE LORD ON THAT ONE!!!) I got 4 select all, no fillins or drag and drop.

The beginning of the exam I felt confident because I was answering them but I still knew to take my time and read the question but also go with my first gut. Towards the middle and the end. some of them I did not have a clue and I could not believe they were asking me a question about religion or other off the wall questions and that kinda made me mad. But I stayed focused and it shut off at 75.

I was shocked to know it only took me an hour to finish. I thought right then and there, YEP I FAILED because I went too fast. I was too anxious and too confident and I skipped over questions too fast, probably did not read it right and I failed. See, I used to take sssoooo long to test in school. When we had 80 questions in school, it would take me 2 hours to test, when we had 150 on our very last final, it took me 4 hours so why only an hour for 75 questions on the NCLEX!!!!!!????:uhoh21:

So, ya, I am sure I failed.....how disappointing and what a set back this will be

Hey mrod -

Join the group! I think everybody has felt the same way - at least I did as well as all of my classmates that have taken it - and so far we all passed with 75. It sounds like you got the exact same questions I did. I had quite a few pharm questions too. Hang in there and stay confident - Make sure and post how you did!

Hey, thanks so much for the support. I found out that I passed yesterday. I still can't believe it, but I am sooo relieved. Thanks again. Vektor, be sure to let us know how you're doing.

Congradulations to one and all! Can't believe how times have changed-I'm one of the oldsters who remembers sitting for 2 long days and plenty of sharpened #2 pencils taking the test. And I don't recall offhand how long it took for us to get the results back. I do remember it wasn't 48hrs LOL! Anybody else out there remember what I'm talking about? :) Congrats again and good luck to all.

Congrats!!!!!!

Robin Yes I remember 20 years ago I took the boards for my LPN and we graduated in August and couldn't take the boards until October and the results were sent to you and I got them in December right before Christmas. It was 2 days and hand written as you said. Then when I took my RN boards it was culture shock taking them on the computor and we found out in three days. It is great how things have changed for the better. OH those were the good ol days!! HA! Sally
