How long til you received your ATT?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello all,

I recently graduated from an Associate Degree Nursing program (RN) in NC. I'm wondering about how long I need to wait until I can expect to receive my ATT from the BON. I have applied/paid/been fingerprinted for months and elected to receive my ATT via email, thinking it was the fastest way.

When can I expect to test?

How long was it for you from graduation until test day?

My final class day was May 11, I was pinned on May 15, and graduated May 17. Any thoughts??

Thanks!!

Jen

I got mine in two weeks. I made sure I signed up and such before graduation but it sounds like you are on top of that! I don't think it will be long for you but I'm sure it varies from state to state. Good luck and wish me too!

I am still waiting through NCBON. Do they have to have results from background check in before making you eligible? I am ready to test and it just seems like forever.

hello, I just graduated this may 2007 in illinois, my school is sending our transcript 1st or 2nd week of june. my question is should i wait till they send my transcript that i graduated before i apply to the state and pearsonvue, or can i apply early and pay everything so when they get my transcript everything is paid already. Is that a faster way on getting my ATT or applying early without transcript could delay my application? thanks for any reply!

I think it's best to apply and get all paperwork done and fees paid that you possibly can.

I went on the PearsonVue site and paid the $200 to take NCLEX. I had been told that you could schedule the test as soon as you paid, but had to have the ATT by the time you went to take the exam. This was INCORRECT info! So now, they have my money for the next few weeks while I wait for the ATT to arrive. We just graduated last night, so it could be weeks before NYS Education Department gets our paperwork completed.... :o

Yes,

the NCBON need the CBC, school verification and your application to the board a declaring you eligible

I got my ATT the same day I registered on the Pearson website.

A friend of mine didnt hear from BON, so she called Pearson and

found out that BON had already notified Pearson and not her.

They had her email address entered incorrectly into the system

and had sent her ATT to the wrong place.

So I would check with Pearson just to make sure.

Specializes in Psych.

It took one week and one day after my official graduation date. I thought that was pretty good, considering that I am getting licensed out of state.

Update please!

My husband graduated May 10th. We still don't have an ATT!!! When I graduated from the same program two years ago, there was a different director. I received my ATT less than a week after graduation.

Trying to answer all questions:

I paid the NCBON, Pearson, and got my criminal background check all completed prior to graduation. You need all three before you can get your ATT to schedule the exam.

My grades were in May 11 (due to the school so they were completed). I was pinned on May 15, graduated May 17. I still don't have my ATT - it's May 30.

On the NCBON of nursing website, you can check the status of your application. Everything is ready for me EXCEPT verification from my school that I did indeed graduate from the nursing program. I emailed/called the board and spoke with an NCLEX "person" who said my verification was received last week, but that now it's just a matter of getting it loaded into the computer. That seems like a poor excuse.

I have heard of nursing students at other area collegs (Univ. of NC - Chapel-Hill SON, East Carolina SON) graduated and had their ATTs in a matter of days. It seems like the community colleges are the slowest.

I have also heard that schools "hold" verifications (transcripts) for a month before sending them into the board - what is the point of that??

It seems like the BONs need to hire additional help around graduation time to make sure school verifications are entered in a timely manner. Knowing my verification is sitting on someone's desk at the BON is really making me upset!

P.S. I graduated from Vance-Granville CC in Henderson, NC

My status is the same. Everything else says received except the school verification and I know that they have it. Some guy from NCBON said remember that it takes up to 3 weeks for processing. I just think it's ridiculous. I went to Spartanburg Community College in SC and there are already grads who are now RNs. The wait is torture especially when you're ready to test.
