Hello all,
I recently graduated from an Associate Degree Nursing program (RN) in NC. I'm wondering about how long I need to wait until I can expect to receive my ATT from the BON. I have applied/paid/been fingerprinted for months and elected to receive my ATT via email, thinking it was the fastest way.
When can I expect to test?
How long was it for you from graduation until test day?
My final class day was May 11, I was pinned on May 15, and graduated May 17. Any thoughts??
Thanks!!

The ATT comes from Pearsonvue. It all depends on how fast your school gets your transcripts to the BON & they varify it. Once that's done the BON will send the ok to Pearson & they will send your ATT. You might try calling the nrsg dept at your school to see if they've sent transcripts out yet. Good luck to you.
Trouble is - all the staff at school are on their break b/t spring and summer semesters...yuk.

So noone is there at this time? Shame on them.
The UNC 24 month program sent the info to the BON on the Monday p graduation (May 14th) and I had my ATT on the 17th. Like you I had all the other stuff comleted and was only waiting on the BON to get teh info from the school. You can also track the status of your application on the BON website.

Thanks WPR. Yes, I too have been on the www.ncbon.com site, checking the status of my application. The ONLY thing I am waiting on is my school verification to be received by the BON.
This is the second year for my school's DON...last year was her first in her position. I heard she was VERY late getting the info out to the BON. At what point do you think I should call the school and bug them about it?? I've already called the nursing dept. secretary and left a message - she was unavailable (probably on break). I haven't called an instructor or the DON yet.
Hate to be rude - but my livlihood is depending on this! Don't you agree?
I agree. I would start calling sometime early next week. Especially if you were never told about a delay in the school getting the information to the BON. I have a friend that just graduated from Winston Salem State Uni. and the school waits 30 days :uhoh21: to send in the school info to the BON.
However, once the BON received the info from my program, it took a couple of days, as stated before, for them to contact Pearson Vue so I could get my ATT. I feel fortunate to have "beaten the rush" of new grads as I will be starting June 11th.
It seems ridiculous that WSSU waits 30 days just to send that info off!! Hello, nursing shortage? Get us out there!!
Thanks for the imput - I believe I will call school tomorrow - a week after graduation - and politely ask when we can expect our transcripts to be sent to the BON. Light a fire under them, so to speak. Can't hurt....
Just in from my DON - an email she sent in response to the question.
"Just received an email from one of your classmates asking when the ATT's will be available. The verification forms were mailed on Friday, May 18th. Last year it took 3-4 weeks for the ATT's to be available from Pearson VUE. Remember a zillion nursing schools are sending in verification forms at once."
3-4 weeks? Maybe I'm not understanding the process.
I thought it worked like this (tell me if I'm wrong):
Student graduates
School sends state BON verification that the student passed the program
BON sends Pearson Vue the info
Pearson sends an ATT via email or mail
Student receives ATT
Student calls Pearson to schedule appt to sit for the exam.
3-4 weeks for that??? Aren't we all online these days???
I remember it didn't take Pearson that long for mine. I actually got my ATT e-mail a couple of days before I got my GN status paper from the state by snail mail. It took my class 2 weeks after pinning to get our ATTs. Our DON sent our paperwork out the following Monday after pinning.

If you haven't recieved anything in about two weeks call your BON and see if they have sent your name to Pearson. They say to wait six weeks but most of the people I graduated with plus myself received both papers within 3 weeks (that's if you registered with Pearson via email). Bottom line, if you haven't heard anything in about 2 weeks call your BON and follow up. Sometimes things get a little crazy this time of year and names can get misplaced. Hope this helps.......

Hi there,
Can you explain for me what the ATT means, I am not a native.
I know that it has to do with the Nclex test but do not know for sure.
Thanks anyway.

ATT=authorization to test, basically a form containing the number used to schedule your test with PearsonVue; also must bring the entire form to the test center when you report for your testing appointment.
