I am just starting today. Today was my last day of LVN school so I'm almost to the end of that road. I already have the outlines for the Health and Safety so I can start looking at that, and I still have to study for my NCLEX of course.
I am just wondering how long it's taking people to complete their program. I live in Austin and there are a few jobs here for LVN but, of course none of them are what I want to do. So the quicker I can knock this out the better. I am a pretty motivated person.
Thank you!

It is possible to do it in one year give or take if you keep yourself on pace. Good luck with the program.

Because there is a wait for the CPNE, I'd say 12-15 months to be done and ready for the NCLEX.
There is a wait on the CPNE of 3-4 months and about 4-6 weeks for your graduation to be completed so allowing time for them is realistic.
I am starting out too and this is my goal so I can be done STAT. :)

i completed the program, including a&p and microbiology in 53 weeks. this was for all of the nursing exams, fcca, the 2 science classes, a workshop, and cpne. i chose mpac first available, registered for cpne in late april, got my date the first week of may, passed first try august 15 and graduated in october. wasn't easy by any means, but what nursing program is? and now i'm getting ready to start my bsn...think i'm a glutton for punishment! good luck!!

I did it in 1 year, would of been 9 months but I had to repeat the CPNE .
Awesome and congrats. I got the outlines from studygroup. I am waiting for the fundamentals book I bought on Ebay. I have found that I need to have the books too. I am working on some kind of self imposed study schedule so that I can finish as soon as possible.

I took my first exam end of May 2010, but didnt really buckle down and get with things until End of Aug so if you count from my first exam it will be year at least to finish, but if you start when i actually got with the program enrolled and started applying myself then about 9mo, less if i dont have to wait too long for a CPNE date i believe! =) its up to you how quickly you can get through the exams...had i had the money/time i probably could have been done with all my exams in 5 mo's tops but i had to stretch some stuff out due to money/family/ time etc

Did you all use any other program along with Excelsior like Chancellors or anything?

I am completed with everything but the CPNE, which I take in March. I finished my FCCA in December, so my CPNE date was just 3 months away from the time I was finished with everything. I enrolled with Excelsior in Sept. '09, and only had the nursing courses to take. So, it took me a little over a year :)

Took my first exam (A&P) May 14, 2007; completed my CPNE June 15, 2008. One year, one month, and one day.

started october 2009, finished october 2010. i took the month of december off and a couple of months in the summer due to a car accident. the wait for my cpne date seemed to take the longest.

Is it possible to take a test every two weeks? I have no kids, work Mon-Fri as Charge Nurse, really no other obligations that take a lot of time? Is this a do-able goal? I really hope to be finished by Aug. '10. I plan to take A&P in 2 weeks. Let me know what you all think! Thanks!!!
