Did you all use any other program along with Excelsior like Chancellors or anything?

I would also like to know why PA's average salary is about 5K more than NP's. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bestjobs/2009/full_list/index.html I was looking at OSU's jobs and the salary range only went up to 115k for NP but 130k for PA...

Is that 16 pt in an 8 (working) hour day? That doesn't sound too bad.

Ouch, all that schooling for 75K a year? I guess if you love it though. I think CRNA or PA sound like great fields.

I am looking into EC's RN program as a transition from Paramedic to RN. I would like to end up in Cbus, and my pension now would only transfer to PERS which is what they have at OSU. So I am wondering if they hire EC grads at OSU? Any OSU info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am also looking into the EC program. No one seemed to say much about the job markets though. I am still a little worried about finding work in Columbus with an EC ADN. Anyone work in Cbus? What about OSU's Medical Center? Do they hire EC grads? Thanks

A lot of ppl are talking about which states will not allow you to work in their state with an associates from Excelsior. What about if you do your RN-BSN at a brick and mortar school? Would their restriction still apply? Thanks.

Act like nurses? I realize that pt care comes pretty high, but 1st should come self care. If you are a wreck, then you are no good to anyone else. When they say "act like nurses" what they are really saying is "let big business/management walk all over you" naturally you can't abandon your pts, but just like you have rules and laws that prevent you from abandoning care, they have rules and laws governing how they treat their employees.

While his/her comment was not worded as nicely as it should have been, I think that most people (silent majority, flyover states, red states) whatever you might call them, would agree with his statement. It might be unfair, uncool, close-minded or whatever, but our society isn't at the point yet where its members are ready to see their judges, politicians, doctors lawyers etc. walking around all tatted up. It is still too associated with bikers, strippers and horny college kids :)

You make 122k+ as a nurse? How much do you work? Lots of overtime?

I am also thinking about CRNA school as a later in life change of career, but I am not sure if it is actually a good move as far as a financial or time investment. I don't want to work till I'm 70 or even 65 for that matter. The earliest that I could be a CRNA would be 41-42. Would it be worth the effort and investment to work 10-15 years?
