During nursing school? I was in school 3/4 time this past semester plus I worked 24-27 hours per week. Last night, I just went hog wild in cleaning my house......I scrubed and organized and scrubbed some more. Would my house be totally trashed when I get into nursing school? I have a 1.5 year old and a 6 year old. My husband means well but he dosen't really have a clue as to how I like things. I just need to let thing be huh? I know I have to keep the bathrooms (3 of em) and the kitchen clean....I mean that is where we can get the most germs right? Everything else...is it...see it in the spring?:uhoh21:
Definitely FLYLADY. My husband and I each do the morning and evening routine, plus 15 minutes (combined) in the day's zone and hotspots, and our house stays nice and tidy. As someone already said, you don't have to do "all" of Flylady every day; you can do as much or as little as you want. We mostly do the minimum, and then over my school breaks we also do one special project a day. Yep, gotta say I LOVE the Flylady.
clean? oh, i forgot what that was!!!?? yeah, taking care of 3 kids, going to school and dealing with life to life things....you might as well put cleaning on the back burner. i am lucky enough to have a hubby that does do a lot of things. he has been the permanent dishwasher since september : ) he doesnt clean the way i like it (you know how men clean), but hey, i cant complain, atleast he is doing it right???? god love him.
To be quite honest with you....my house wasn't deep cleaned until the end of the semesters. It wasn't dirty, but it stayed disorganized. I rarely had time to do what I wanted to do with it but got things done that had to be done....laundry, dishes etc... I hired my mom to come clean about once a week. I paid her 60 dollars a day and she cleaned from top to bottom and I loved her for it. I'm considered a clean freak so it was hard for me not to be organized, but you can only do what you can do. Get your kids involved and make sure they help too. Don't stress out over your housework. I know it's easier said than done, but it won't last forever and hopefully once school is finished you can go back to your regular routine. Good luck!
I just finished my first semester of nursing school and have a husband, three children and a dog. The only way I coped with my house was to try and concentrate my efforts on the main rooms (living room, kitchen and family room). The bedrooms got out of hand but I had to let something go and I realized if someone stopped over they weren't likely to go into the bedrooms. The bathrooms got neglected but it's amazing what a quick swish of the toilet, a little windex and clorox wipes can do in a few minutes to spruce things up. Bigger jobs and projects absolutely had to be out on the backburner and I do a lot of catching up on breaks. I just keep telling myself it's only temporary!

do one super clean up, from top to bottom.
Then each day, make sure you do dishes and at least one load of laundry and sweep the floor. Once a week do bathrooms, vacuum, mop dust. I have managed to keep a pretty decent looking house- I wouldnt slam the door in your face if you came to visit- and managed an A this semester. Yes, I have kids, and I commute to class and back 4 hours per day. I cant study if my house is a wreck, I just cant. So I just dont let it get that way. i would rather spend 1/2 hour a day then 10 hours on the weekend!
