I am the mother of 3 (4,6,7). I attend LPN school, and do not work. My hubby works full time from 3-11pm. He is very supportive. He cleans, cooks, laundry whenever i am busy studying. So, that helps A LOT. LPN school is challenging, but if you take notes and study everyday, you will do fine. Its just the keeping up....you make a choice everyday when u wake up if you want to go to school or stay home, do your homework or not....ect...some days i struggle....i get sick of going everyday (sorry to sound so negative)...but I still get my butt outta bed and go. I have had to miss out on some field trips with the kids, my youngest daughters christmas program (it broke my heart)....but as long as you keep your head up and remember it is only temporary, you can do it. Its very rewarding. You are helping your family out in the long run. Good Luck with school!

It just depends on how you look at it, Some of it is difficult, some of it isnt so much, but LPN school is very time consuming. Esp. if you have a family to take care of, and or a job. LPN school doesnt stop for anything, it keeps going, and whatever is happening in your life has to step back a little. Its hard to do the balancing act. I am a mother of 3 small children. My husband is supportive so that helps. But anyway, it is what you make it...just try to stay positive and keep your eye on the prize and you will be done in no time.

hello! i am currently an lpn student, but will be graduating in june 07. i keeping going back and forth on making the decision to go right on for my rn. another 2-3 yrs of school just doesnt sound to apealing to me at the moment, but i know that i should just do it so i can get it over with while my children are small, and my husband can support us on his income. for those of you that were lpns before you got your rn....what was it like? what is the difference between the lpn and the rn school? does it go way more in depth? is it a lot harder? do i have an advantage going thru lpn school...is it any easier than people that have no experience? just some things that i have been wondering about. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!!! btw...happy holidays everyone!!!!!!!!

i am currently in lpn school, & will be done in june. my plan is to go right on for my rn at a local community college here. another 2-3 yrs of school really doesnt sound that great to me right now, but i know i should just do it now instead of waiting. my dh works and can support our 3 kids and i so i may as well take advantage of it, right? it makes me wonder why i just didnt go right for the rn first! but in a way i am glad that i will have experience from the last 2 yrs of lpn school.

mommy. wife. nursing student. aunt. neighbor. friend. tired. stressed. un-motivated in my studies (must be the time of year?). i could go on and on.......over all, i am proud to be each of these...except for the unmotivated part;)

To me clinicals are exausting. Either they are super busy, or not so much, and it is boring. I would chose being busy over not, I love to learn. I dont look forward to clinicals at all. I hate to even admit it, because I want to be positive about this whole experience. But it is frusterating when there is one instructor & 10 of us. I can only imagine the stress of being an instructor, that would be stressful as well. Anyway, lets keep our heads up fellow nursing students, this is ONLY TEMPORARY!!!!

Hey there! As a student myself, I have experienced the questioning of myself....am i really sure this is what I want to do? I think as a student a lot of us go thru that when we have a bad experience. Just look at it like a lesson & know you will never act as that nurse did. No matter where we work there are going to be jerks. Just keep your head up. Take care.

im an lpn student & i dont work....i was thinking about it when i first started school, because i kind of felt like the cna's in my class had an advantage. they do in some aspects, but we do as well...from what my fellow cna classmates tell me, it is hard to make that transition from cna to lpn. im also greatful that i dont work right now, because studying does take up alot of my time. if i had to study, work and take care of my kids (hubby works @ night) i would go insane. some people do that, but i know i couldnt handle it!!!! i say if you dont have to work, dont, focus on your studies, it can get pretty intense at times. good luck!!!

i worked for fedex in the customer svc dept. ick! then, i got pregnant and stayed at home and then had 2 more babies after that. i am still a sahm, but im a student too. it took me awhile to decide what i wanted to do for sure, nursing was always something i could see myself doing. im just nervous for when i actually start working, having no experience working in healthcare....

Thank you all so very much for helping me out. Sometimes nursing school is so difficult and I feel that the instructors/teachers are working against you, and it feels so great to have this support system here. I love this website. okay, all of you experienced nurses out there, i am in desprate need of your assistance!!!! i am a nursing student, and i am having a really difficult time with nursing diagnoses and short and long term goals. i dont know why this is so hard for me. but it is....and i need some help. the pt that i had today is mr, he had a ng tube in used for feeding. he was in for hyponatremia & dehydration. he is on saftey mits because he keeps trying to pull the ng tube out of his nose. so my diagnoses are inadequet nutrition & something to do with safety. i need long and short term goals also....please help...any suggestions or ideas to make my brain work??????

Its a myth most definetly....my sil has red hair and has had two babies and I watched both deliveries.....no problems at all. I wonder how that myth came about? Thats funny

i will start with my three daughters names, thier middle names are all named after a grandmother. kylie jane, madison elizabeth, and chloe ruth other names that i love for girls are abigail (abby), madelyn, ava, cassidy, reece, and there are many more....but just a few. boy names....tyler, cameron (for a boy or girl), man, its hard to think of boy names....i never really had to!!! i dunno....
