Hi guys i need your suggestions on this, my wife recently passed the recent board exam given by PRC last June2008, in this regard shes asking the step to take in going for an RN in British Columbia, Vancouver. What are the requirements so she can have her papers assessed.
hi there fmog, you've probably already read breech's post about RNs who graduated from nursing school less than 5 years ago - if this is the case with you then no need to have previous experience to be found eligible.
about the New Grad residency training in BC hospitals that you're hoping to find, i will be looking for similar job opportunities once i am found eligible (hopefully) because i have no hospital experience yet....will let you know if i find any. please keep me posted too if you discover some facilities which hire New Grads.
thanks and goodluck.
will do. thanks.:loveya:
mine took less than 3 months before I receive my eligibility to take the CRNE
Hi!breech and everyone,

If you read the forms, the last page of your application must be notarized. The one that you affixed your signature. Since you already submitted it, better email the CRNBC about your concern.
Best of luck to you!
I think you will find most provinces charge similar costs for sitting CRNE
The cost of writing the CRNE is set by the Canadian Nurses' Association. It's the same no matter where you write it.
hi silverdragoin102,really? i guess you have to shell out lots of money just like with the US application... do you know any agencies that can help me with that? i mean agencies that will shoulder the fees?
Yes,you have to shell out a lot of money to have your credentials assessed, write the CRNE and obtain a Canadian license to practice. There are no agencies that will pay any of your up-front costs. (Some provincial health authorities will pay some of your relocation costs once you're licensed to practice.) You have to do the work and pay the costs if you want to work as a nurse in Canada, same as all the rest of us have.
Hi breech!
I kind of have the same situation with j8win. I did read somewhere that there's a document that has to be notarized but I read over and over again the instructions given by CRNBC before submitting my documents and there was nowhere there that said notarization was needed for the application form. To my understanding, what needs to be notarized would be the statutory declaration, which will be submitted along with the application for temporary RN registration. Am I correct? Please tell me I'm correct because I've already submitted my application to CRNBC last September and when I read your post, my eyes just about bugged out. Now, I'm short of having a panic attack! haha! I wanted to email CRNBC regarding my problem but then I got an email from them just yesterday assigning me my file no. and informing me that once my application is reviewed, I'll be receiving a pre-assessment letter from them. Should I still go ahead and email them regarding my problem or what?

I read from other site about notarizing your last page which is the declaration part. But, unfortunately, i forgot where i read it. When i submitted my documents, i certified true copy all the photocopies attached to make it sure its genuine.
I think there's no harm of asking your concern to CRNBC.
Good luck.
i've also read the application package for IEN, and there's no form 11 which needs to be notarized. form 11 is only found in packages for those who are canadian, or canadian graduates. this form (form 11)which needs to be notarized will be sent to the applicants once they are found eligible to take the exam (http://www.crnbc.ca/downloads/468.pdf).
so i don't think anyone needs to really worry if they have sent their application forms without it being notarized..
