Hi guys i need your suggestions on this, my wife recently passed the recent board exam given by PRC last June2008, in this regard shes asking the step to take in going for an RN in British Columbia, Vancouver. What are the requirements so she can have her papers assessed.
to breech, asking you same questions i asked peepo...
1) did you have to submit a WES report to CRNBC or not anymore?
2) in the basic nursing education form and request for transcript (form 30) filled out by your nursing school, just the total hours of theory and clinicals have to provided, right?
3) how long did it take - from submission of application to notice of eligibility?
1.) I have no idea about that WES thing. CRNBC didn't ask that from me.
2.) Just fill up the Section A in that form and the school will do the rest. It's their responsibility to write the number of hours, not you, and they will send it directly to CRNBC.
3.) -Submitted my application - January 2008
-Pre-Assessment letter sent - March 2008 (they asked me a copy of
the retake since I'm a June 2006 NLE passer)
- Eligibility Letter sent on April 2008 (CRNBC made me eligible to take CRNE/temp. reg, criminal record check form, Canadian reference, etc.)

wow that was pretty quick -- the time it took to get eligibility and your response....thanks!
congrats, peepo! that's very good news, indeed. thanks!was there a need for you to have your credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES) -- did CRNBC require that, or not anymore? just the one page request for transcript from your nursing school? also, if you can recall, in that page which your school registrar filled up, just the total hours of theory and clinicals need to be provided, right?
and last question, how many months did it take -- from sending in application to receiving eligibility?
No WES (i dont get it why you have to go through with this when you you dont have to)...i just filled out the part for the applicant. after that the school summarized my theory, clinical hours then they had it mailed for me.
passed my application feb 2008, had my pre assesment letter march and made eligible by april.

thanks. that was fast. CNO took four months for me. that WES thing was in the CRNBC website. i also applied to CLPNBC and an evaluation report similar to WES was a mandatory requirement there. glad to know that's not the case with CRNBC.
how's your job hunting going, found any prospective employers yet?
hi,i've been searching for a thread that could have possibly discussed about international nurses who doesn't have an experience from the country they are from yet and have been made eligible by CRNBC and applied in the New graduate (RN) program such as the ones that providence healthcare offers to new grads.I wonder if we can apply for this while on temporary registration or is this limited to Canadian newly grads only. Have emailed providence healthcare already about this but have not gotten a response yet.I hope sobebody knows about this. thanks.
hi there fmog,
you've probably already read breech's post about RNs who graduated from nursing school less than 5 years ago - if this is the case with you then no need to have previous experience to be found eligible.
about the New Grad residency training in BC hospitals that you're hoping to find, i will be looking for similar job opportunities once i am found eligible (hopefully) because i have no hospital experience yet....will let you know if i find any. please keep me posted too if you discover some facilities which hire New Grads.
thanks and goodluck.
ahh okay.. are you in british columbia already? how much did you spend? what was the website again?thanks breech
Im still here in the philippines. I spent $210 for CRNBC registration but it already increased to $262.50. Employers need your registration with CRNBC before they will consider your job application.
i looked up crnbc.ca... CAD 600 is what they are asking for the exam fee... breech, i guess that is too expensive... how much did you pay for your application?
Are you already eligible to take CRNE? before that, you should submit an application for assessment(262.50 bucks) before you can take the exam which is $600.
