Hi guys i need your suggestions on this, my wife recently passed the recent board exam given by PRC last June2008, in this regard shes asking the step to take in going for an RN in British Columbia, Vancouver. What are the requirements so she can have her papers assessed.
finally, i found the site why i notarized my crnbc application form. it's in number 1 under documents
http://www.healthmatchbc.org/hmbc_nurses.asp?pageid=623
i certified true copy my photocopied documents because i read this link http://www.vch.ca/careers/international/nurse.html during my time of application (under what to do: international applicant). although the fee is outdated, that's the assessment fee when i submitted my application (but they charged me only $210, after march 1, 2008 assessment fee raised to $262.50) i submitted my application january 2008

once you have ordered an application form, crnbc will send you an application package. you must complete the application form and have it notarized by a notary public or commissioner for taking oaths. (from http://www.vch.ca/careers/international/nurse.html#t1)
please share your inputs..
yeah breech last night i search also for that notarize matter and found the same site that you do. it said that "one must complete the application form and have it notarized by a notary public" but maybe that is the rule before when the payment was only 214$. it is said in the fact sheet that "[color=#231f20]requirements and fees are subject to change" so we have to[color=#231f20] check on the crnbc website http://www.crnbca.ca for [color=#231f20]current fees and requirements.

[color=#231f20][color=#231f20]well, that is my opinion about that..

[color=#231f20][color=#231f20]thanks to all:wink2:

thanks.
i was just very careful that time when i submitted my application. i see to it that i've done the necessary things. i read and researched sites about crnbc application and even consulted a friend in canada how he did his crnbc application. he said, he notarized it with the lawyer. then i said to myself, its not a loss if i have it notarized.
i'm just afraid of losing time because with small things....
You don't have to notarize the application for CRNBC. I just applied last july 7, 2008 and was made eligible for temporary registration last Sept. 11, 2008.
Friendly advice to all applicants, I am having difficulty getting sponsorship from any of the health authorities in BC. They require at least 3 years hospital experience before you qualify. I have been job hunting for almost 1 month now. Even tried contacting them telephonically to check on the status of my application. I am just waiting for northern and iterior health for the verdict. My application has just been circulated. And for the record, I have been nursing for 2 years. Good luck.
i've also read the application package for IEN, and there's no form 11 which needs to be notarized. form 11 is only found in packages for those who are canadian, or canadian graduates. this form (form 11)which needs to be notarized will be sent to the applicants once they are found eligible to take the exam (http://www.crnbc.ca/downloads/468.pdf).so i don't think anyone needs to really worry if they have sent their application forms without it being notarized..
Form 11 (Statutory Declaration) is not only for Canadians. CRNBC sent me a copy of this form together with other forms when I was made eligible to take CRNE. But I think this form will be completed and notarized only in the Province of British Columbia because there is a section that the commisioner for taking the affidavits in BC will also affix his signature.
to breech:
cant send you a pm..admin restrictions (i dont know). hav applied to a few vacancies but no replies yet. will apply to other health authorities later.
to the poster asking about notarization:
my experience - i'v been made eligible for crne...i didnt have any of the applications forms i donwloaded from and sent to crnbc notarized. BUT..the statutory declaration which came with the eligibility pack will have to be notarized. im stil not sure how to handle that.

You can't send any pms until you have 15 posts. When applying for positions have you tried telephone call a week or so later and checking up on them?
So if kit25 got her eligibility without any problem i think there is nothing to worry about. Thanks kit25.
Hi!breech and everybody who have tried answering our concern thank you very much.

Hi Davkelnice!
I submitted my application form along with the assessment fee to CRNBC last September 24. I got an email from them yesterday (Oct. 17) assigning me my file no. and informing me that they'll be reviewing my documents. According to my application status in the CRNBC website, they received all my documents last September 30. I have no idea if that was a pretty long wait or just the standard time period from submission to the assignment of an applicant's file no. Maybe someone else can enlighten us on this. :)
To breech, thanks so much for the quick reply. Your posts are really helpful!
To gorgeous77, yeah, that's my understanding, too. Form 11 is the statutory declaration, which should be submitted along with the application for temporary RN registration before writing the CRNE. Thanks for the info!
