  1. hi AD2008, our plans are all the same. i also planning to go for a tourist (since it is the only way to be able to take the SEC). I also have relatives and funds for my journey to Canada. I hope that we will be approved
  2. hi xysy25, because of curiosity we ask CRNBC why we should take the SEC assessment and the respond to all of us are all the same. It is because that we only receive 10 years of education prior to college. In the Philippines, we only attain 6 years of elementary and 4 years of high school while most of the other country including Canada, they receive a total of 12 years of education before college. I think that CRNBC really gives importance to our whole education. In my opinion, there is no problem in our curriculum when we are in college, but CRNBC is in doubt whether we receive enough education prior to college.
  3. hi everyone, i also received a sec letter from crnbc. well i'm not really that surprised because my friends who first applied also received a sec letter. we encounter each other in an agency that recruits nurses for canada (british columbia) the agency told us the steps to be able to become eligible to take the crne. that agency is very strict because they only accept nurses who already passed the ielts and with at least one year of work experience. i have only one year of work experience but my friends have so many years of experience, some of them are presently working (mostly in philippine general hospital) and most of them have a work experience abroad and still they are required to complete the sec assessment. the first batch in our agency is so lucky because they applied september last year and they got eligible to take the crne. nevertheless, the second batch where i belong received a sec letter. i think that it is really in the transcript if one should be required to take a sec assessment. crnbc noted in there website that: “as of december 8, 2008, if crnbc is unable to assess your application alone, you will be required to undertake a substantially equivalent competency assessment to determine if you meet educational and competency requirements.”
  4. Hi breech I have a question about LMO? I really don’t know if my understanding is right about what it is. Is it a confirmation coming from the employer that I have a job offer? Then if I already received an LMO from my employer that is the time when I can apply for a working permit? In your case, simultaneously, you applied for both working permit and permanent residency. That’s really great. Did your employer ask you to do that? Or you are the one who decide for it? And what about your temporary registration, did you applied for it already so when you get there in Canada you can work for that 250 hours requirement while waiting to take the exam or after you finished your CRNE? Sorry if I have so many questions to ask. Just finished sending all my requirements to crnbc for my assessment and still waiting for their response. I did what you told me to do… to take the first step… and now I’m really curious about exploring the whole staircase. :thnkg:
  5. yeah breech last night i search also for that notarize matter and found the same site that you do. it said that "one must complete the application form and have it notarized by a notary public" but maybe that is the rule before when the payment was only 214$. it is said in the fact sheet that "[color=#231f20]requirements and fees are subject to change" so we have to[color=#231f20] check on the crnbc website http://www.crnbca.ca for [color=#231f20]current fees and requirements. [color=#231f20][color=#231f20] [color=#231f20][color=#231f20]well, that is my opinion about that.. [color=#231f20][color=#231f20] [color=#231f20][color=#231f20]thanks to all:wink2:
  6. i agree to u8ntcnntnyt and gorgeous77 it is the [color=#231f20]statutory declaration (form 11) that is to be notarized.
  7. thank you silverdragon102 and breech. i have another question. it is about the substantially equivalent competence (sec). does crnbc requires this program to filipino applicants or it depends on the result of the assessment of crnbc if one should take it first or not? thanks again... breech good luck to you!!! you will be in canada very soon. god bless you
  8. hi breech thanks for the information that you provided. we appreciate all your actions in providing us essential answers. i really have a puzzled mind before if i am still gonna pursue applying to Canada because i have a limited experience i only have 10 months of experience as a MS staff nurse here in the Philippines and i am really in doubt if i will find an employer. but now i am taking a risk i'm gonna apply for the crnbc i will not wait for my ielts exam to expire. also, i will do it by myself having an agency is very expensive. breech, i have a question, your first step is that you apply for the crnbc and then after it has been approved you search for an employer? or is it possible that i can find an employer first to be sure before applying for crnbc? because it will be a waste if crnbc approved my application to take the crne and then after that i cannot find an employer. again, thank you for your help...
  9. thanks for the info
  10. hi! im a nurse in the Philippines and recently i passed the IELTS exam. i am now preparing to apply for the SRNA for Saskatchewan. but i am in doubt if i qualified for the 1125 working experience that they require. i have a 10 months experience in a tertiary hospital in the Philippines. the 4 months was a nurse training and the 6 months where i got completely absorb by the hospital. if i will get the total number of hours for the 10 months that will be 1840 hours but if i dont include the nurse training it will be just 1100 hours. i will be so glad if someone will clarify to me if the SRNA will include nurse training as a work experience. thank you so much!!!!
