  1. You need to take NCLEX to practice RN in US. Then find a hosp. that can sponsor you.If u are from U.S and want to practice here in Au u need to register as RN in Aphra just google the website.
  2. Nsw hourly rate depends on number of years of experience. I have a friend working in ICU in a private hospital with previous 4 yrs experience and he gets 28dollars an hour while my other friend in a private aged care dementia unit with previous 8 yrs experience currently receiving 34 dollars an hour plus penalties when she work night shift or weekend.
  3. There are lots of shifts for Rn available in Sydney. Im a night RN, and if one of the AM Rn ring in sick the day before her shift. We always have trouble getting a replacement. Most of the time i can't get any..
  4. hi!janfrn,5cats and everybody, I got a letter of invitation to come to surrey B.C from CRNBC, for the SEC assessment, honestly i have decided already not to pursue with this assessment because i know that it will cost me so much to travel to Canada. I just want to ask.....if anybody of you have gone through the same process already. It was stated in the invitation that i have to apply for a TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA to attend SEC. (I was expecting that they want me to travel on tourist visa) I just want to ask to those who have gone through the same process. Granting i would be granted for a temporary resident visa to come to surrey B.C, will i be allowed to stay after the assessment and for example if i am going to pass the SEC assessment. Will i be allowed in this visa to look for a hospital to sponsor me for a Temporary Work permit to stay and work in Canada. To save some travel cost. My apologies to the moderator if ever my question is not allowed here coz i am already asking about visa and maybe out of the topic already. Thank u so much! j8win
  5. thanks!janfrn..yup, i guess i have to go for plan number 2 and forget about nursing in Canada. I am still trying to think of what to do next..
  6. no..they said..i don't have to pay for it. But being a mummy, i can't just go there. I need to invest huge amount of money on this. Anyway, i always hold on to God's promise. "For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." [Jeremiah 29:11]" Thanks so much 5cats!
  7. hi!5cats, thanks for your concern, yes i haven't been working for more than 2 years now.I worked in saudi arabia for more than 8 years in a tertiary hospital under JCIA (owned by the king of k.s.a). I graduated from the Philippines but i am a resident of another country. Since i left saudi arabia i devoted my time to my daughter, and since she's on pre-school now, i am trying my luck for my Canadian dream. I always dream of living and working in Canada since i was young despite being a resident now of another country other than Philippines. The decision made by CRNBC was really dissapointing on my part. Yes, they want me to complete SEC on mental,med-surg and maternal/newborn nursing as well on child health. On sept. I will be totally out of practice for 3 years. I just wish that they will give me a chance to prove myself. Sad.
  8. I will not be able to do this SEC Assessment coz i know that i am going to invest lots of money on this.... I felt it is the end of my dream of becoming an RN in Bc....i am dissappointed....anyway thanks everyone.
  9. hi! I am also trying to find answer to my question. I applied in CRNBC after a friend of mine from college.. was given an eligibility to sit for CRNE. I was expecting to receive the same assessment and was hoping also to get an eligibility.. instead i got a letter from CRNBC asking me to come to surey B.C to have that SEC Assessment and since this will involve a lot of money, ithink this will be the end of my dream of becoming an RN in BC canada. I am dissappointed and shock at the momemt..i don't know what to do next..
  10. hi! Breech and everyone, I sent my CRNBC application last november. I was expecting to receive an eligibility to take the CRNE exam this month, instead i got a letter from CRNBC asking me to come to Canada to take a SEC assessment in Kwantlen Polytechnic University that will take for 1-5 days. They are giving me one year to comply for this.I know that i will not be able to do this assessment and I know that an application is being assessed individually but im just sharing it with all of you and i'm a little bit ...dissappointed of the outcome of my application....
  11. I worked in an out patient department for 4 years too. Some doctors are really difficult to deal with ....oh...specially arab doctors:banghead:. (peace:saint:)that is based on my experience..
