They ruled out heart problems and stroke, according to the news. What's your best guess, based on what you see here?

CNN said that he had "scaled back public appearances" recently, and they also made mention of him looking very tired. I'm with you guys, I was thinking TIA. "They" say everything's fine....Of course, this is the same "they" that never told us Eisenhower had experienced an MI or Wilson was so debilitated from a CVA his wife practically ran the country, or that Pres. Grover Cleveland had cancer of the jaw....So, I'm still thinking TIA...

Not to mention long-standing rumors that Shrub started drinking again, and Laura is not living at the White House?
Hey, at least it wasn't a reprise of what Bush v. 1.0 did in Japan!
Remember how that was the #1 news story all over the world, and comedians had a field day with it for MONTHS afterwards?
It sounds like he's okay. I certainly hope that's true.

I had a vasovagal episode once, which was preceded by a prodrome of some sort during which my dh said I 'wasn't making any sense'. I remember feeling really weird for about half an hour before I did my face-plant on the bathroom carpet, but I had no idea that my words were scrambled or that I was about to take a nosedive off the throne. Luckily, I was able to pick myself up off the floor, walk into the living room and tell my family I was calling 911 because I thought I might be having a stroke.
Well, you can imagine the effect this announcement had on my NON-medical family, who ran around like chickens with their heads cut off while I chewed an aspirin tablet and directed the paramedics where to place the IV. Thankfully, all my tests were negative; turned out that since I'd lost about 40 pounds, my atenolol dose was too high for my smaller body and it was making my heart rate too slow (my resting pulse was only 54, and when they had me do a Valsalva it dropped into the low 40s). So you just never know what can go wrong..........However, I STILL think Mukasey had a TIA, he doesn't look good at all IMO.

Arrhythmia, possibly? Though I think it's most likely TIA.
Get well!

Actually, had a nurse passing out meds on the unit two weeks ago vagal out, and guess what? He complained of feeling "out of sorts" that morning. Sent him out, neg for TIA, hypo, etc... Dx. of vasovagal syncope. It absolutely can manifest itself similiar to a TIA.

I dunno I don't think TIA. It looked like he was having a hard time seeing his paper as he repeated himself once... then sorta mumbled and down he went.
I've had a few episodes of syncope and they are bizzare its like you don't know whats going on until your on the floor. Things sorta get blurry and lights slowly just turn off... If your talking your speech is all funny.
I think an arrythmia one just long enough to cause the episode then resolved by the time they could get a good look at him.

Could be a TIA caused by a spasm. or blockage not seen on the CT.
