Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Hello! I’m wondering if anyone here got an offer from MD Anderson for the summer clinical nurse residency program? I received one and am wondering if anyone out there did too/which units they are on?

They sent a link to do a video interview. Like you record your answers to the questions. That gets sent to HR and then if they are interested you get a to schedule an interview. Which is actually a panel interview. After that you will get an offer. But it takes time I think it was about a month or so for me.

HCA peeps: for those of you starting 7/1 have y’all heard any word on what our scrub color is? I know it’s been royal blue previously, but I heard rumors that they were thinking about changing the color. Passed NCLEX today and I want to start buying scrubs even though I don’t start until 8/19 ?

I want to start buying scrubs too! At HCA Tomball they currently wear pink scrubs on the women’s floor but are rumored that everyone will change to royal blue and that the scrubs have to come from the hospital because they will have their logo on it ??‍♀️
