Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Have y’all gotten the email about ordering your scrubs? When i went in for my pre-employment health visit they mentioned that I would get an email with an account to order scrubs on but I still haven’t gotten anything.

I was told by the recruiters (Erika) that we won’t go through the process of ordering scrubs until we’ve completed orientation. I’m unclear if that’s all of orientation or just classroom. From what Erika told me it was our full orientation, including preceptorship, but healthtrust made it sound like it was after the classroom portion ??‍♀️

Either way, we’re for sure allowed to wear whatever scrubs during the classroom portion. I personally bought royal blue ones but they can be any color

Can anyone tell me if they got jobs and when they applied?? I am graduating with my adn in May and want to apply everywhere soon!
