Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

I just received an offer with HCA Tomball in their Postpartum unit! Is anyone else in the Women's Health cohort starting in August?

Yes! I am in the postpartum unit as well but for their Northwest location

Yay! Is your unit mother/baby or strictly postpartum? I’m still waiting for the official contract and it’s making me nervous. Lol

In my contingent offer email it says my unit is "Mother Baby"

Oh okay! Tomball doesn’t do Mother Baby and I’m a little sad about it lol. Have you gotten any information about where we’re meeting for the first day or anything else about the program?

Aww! Nope I haven't gotten much information other than the start date yet. They said they would reach out one month before the start date with more info which is Aug. 19 for me

Yes it changed! My original email said 26th but then i got an email saying it was changed to the 19th
