Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Published

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Yes, BON received and cleared my affidavit on May 14th

Wow, thank you, guess I'll email the DON just to see when/if it has been sent!

around your area, are there still lots of available dates? Thank you for all the info!

I honestly have no clue. I haven’t checked since I scheduled my test date.

I used mostly uworld and reviewed material using the Saunders book. I passed first try

congrats !! I just purchased uworld. Do you feel like it prepared you well? Were the questions as detailed as their practice questions? Thank you !

I think it did prepare me well. Did I feel prepared? No. But after I started my test and saw how similar the format that uworld and nclex had, I felt more at ease. To me nclex was bit easier than uworlds practice questions, in the sense that it was easier to read.

Cool thank you for the response! Congrats again !=]

Hi! For anyone who has received an offer from TCH - did your offer letter disclose that they are an "termination at will" employer meaning they can terminate you at anytime? I have never seen this before and am wondering if everyone else had this disclosure on their offer.

Texas is a termination at will state. Any job can let you go for any reason. Thats just what they're saying.

For those who accepted an offer with CHI St. Luke's, have you received the "Next Steps" e-mail?

No I haven't. Have you?

would anyone be interested in a nclex study group in the houston area?

did anyone recently have an interview with memorial hermann ne for their summer graduate program? if so, do you know when their program starts?

Good afternoon! For those who got accepted into CHI St. Luke's nurse residency program to start in July: does your CHI careers page say that you applied for October cohort? It's so weird mine says I applied for it when I didn't.
