Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

So we are now a week from April 1st which is when they said they would let us know.... and so far it sounds like nobody has heard back from Methodist TMC about second interviews correct?

This is what I got back from the recruiter “We are trying to get leadership interviews times but communication will come out on who was selected to move forward. Each candidate will be contacted individually about a specific appointment time.”

Thanks so much for sharing this info. I wish they told you when the "communication" would be, but at least we know they're working on it I guess ?

I applied to Houston Methodist-TMC and Sugarland, and I received an email stating that I wasn’t chosen go to the next round of interviews. It sucks even more, because I even work at HM-SugarLand as a student nurse/PCA, and I wasn’t even chosen I work the hospital system. I have an interview for St. Luke’s and I’m praying/hoping to hear something for Texas Children’s.

Did you have pre screenings with both TMC and Sugarland? that’s crazy that you work there and they denied you!

I'm sorry to hear that I have my fingers crossed for you. Did you email them first asking for an update regarding your status or did they just randomly send this to you?

For those of you who have gotten a job offer would y'all mind saying what you think was most helpful in getting an offer or what you did that put you over the edge? I know a lot of us haven't heard anything and I'm just trying to think about the next round of apps and what we should do differently.

I did I got an email maybe an hour ago saying I had been selected for another interview. It said "Department: Cardio Heart Failure" though and I'm not sure what that is - if anyone knows let me know please!

Is this the first interview you've had (since the pre-screen)? Or did you have another interview after the pre-screen? All I've heard is crickets. ? I applied at Methodist TMC only.
