Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

This was my second time interviewing with this unit (I had already interviewed back in October for the Spring residency.) It was a video interview for the first 5mins but internet was weird so it turned into a phone interview. 

Did they say when they’ll get back to you? My friend had her interview with the NICU this morning and they said they would let her know by the end of the week

Just want to see if it’s the same at every location

I contacted Methodist West and they are done contacting people, for those that are still waiting to hear back from that location at least and Sugar Land is only considering those that put it as their first option for now.

This unit had more interviews today and tomorrow only. She said I could expect to hear back by the end of this week.

Did she interview with NICU at children’s? If so, how was it and did they say how many people they are interviewing/hiring?! Mine is Wednesday!

I didn't interview for NICU btw! I interviewed for MH Memorial City Neuro ICU. I think the person you quoted just wanted to know if everyone is getting to know if they get a job offer or not in the same time frame regardless of location/unit. Orrr maybe their friend also interviewed for the same location. Orrr maybe they misread and thought I said NICU instead of ICU?

Nothing yet. They're my first choice since I live ~10 min away. 

I had my PICU interview earlier today with MH. If anyone else is interviewing with them, come up with some questions to ask LOL.

Wait what ?? Like are there specific questions  they want us to ask ?

No, just general questions to ask the interviewers about themselves, or the unit or hospital.

Yes NICU at children’s MH. She said they asked basic interview questions. Difficult coworker situation, why the NICU, working style, etc. IDK about the number of ppl

LOL I just wanted to know the job offer time frame. I’m ready to start seeing people get hired ? thank you!!
