I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.
I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

They're short in Houston too. Most places are even doing major sign on bonuses because they can't fully staff their units. They just don't want to hire so many new grads.

I hear ya, I’m going to start looking at clinics and home Heath agencies. have your received any rejection letters?

thanks for the response!! do you happen to have the link to apply? I checked the website but don't see any for the residency program.
I just want to know for those who weren’t contacted for interviews if anyone has received any kind of rejection letter from Memorial Hermann ? Like I didn't get a call or text for an interview by the 19th, but I didn't get a rejection. and they said they would send them if they’re not moving forward with you so I just want to know if I should move on or not...

There’s no big residency program for MDA, they post separate residency positions as an individual job listing as space in a unit opens up. So you just have to constantly be checking the careers page. Starting April is when they’ll begin hiring for May graduates

I have no idea. In the email it also said second round match days will vary so I think people will continue to be contacted if positions don’t fill.
Honestly, this entire process is tougher than I expected. Like only 2 positions are open per floor...ridiculous. In my Methodist interview she made it seem like if I had already taken my NCLEX that I would’ve been prioritized. So I think ppl that graduated in December are being put ahead of us. I take my NCLEX April 9th so maybe that’ll help.
Don’t lose faith!
