I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.
I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

Honestly, this entire process is tougher than I expected. Like only 2 positions are open per floor...ridiculous. In my Methodist interview she made it seem like if I had already taken my NCLEX that I would’ve been prioritized. So I think ppl that graduated in December are being put ahead of us. I take my NCLEX April 9th so maybe that’ll help.
Don’t lose faith!
Yes the spots are so limited! Most units take 2-3 new grads max. It's almost impossible with thousands of applications smh.
Just had my interview for Memorial Hermann Memorial City Neuro ICU! General interview questions asked. This was my second time interviewing with this unit (I had already interviewed back in October for the Spring residency.) It was a video interview for the first 5mins but internet was weird so it turned into a phone interview.

Hmmm. Well I got the "Why ICU?" question but other than that not really. I got behavioral such as "Tell me about the time you made a mistake/helped a coworker." I got to ask questions for the last 10ish mins. I didn't get any knowledge questions.

I thought we have to graduate before taking NCLEX. is it possible to take it before graduation? I was just wondering since you take yours in April
