I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.
I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!
I just got a call from TCH, I think they are actually calling everyone just to find out our preferences and locations to let the unit know. She said she'll reach out to me within the next two weeks if I'm selected for an interview. So there's hope guys! they might still be calling next week.

For MH they said it in the webinars and when I emailed asking a question a few weeks ago she let me know the time line.
Has anyone heard from these hospitals that knows when the stop reaching out for interviews: (for women’s services units and ER)
Methodist west & sugarland
memorial hermann west & memorial city
Harris health
HCA
I hate anticipation and wish I can just receive a decline email to ease my nerves. Looks like they don’t reach out to everyone at the same time and it’s scary
Just now, Topochica said:Outside of Home Health, does anyone know where else hires new grad nurses? Just looking at other places to apply since nothing seems to be panning out with hospitals in the Houston area.
Let me know when you figure that out. So much for paying for a degree that had a “guaranteed” job at graduation.

Covid clinics are paying well right now. Any nurse job focused toward population health will get you there. School nurse sub as well. Free clinics sometimes need a nurse and they pay as well.

Thanks. I am unsure it did not say specific hospitals. My recruiter was a ------------------------. I empathize with you and how it’s mentally taxing! Be positive and you WILL find something.
