Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

Published

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

Yes they did! And I applied the day the app opened on the 8th! don't get discouraged I thought they weren’t gonn

Right I said the same! I graduated last semester and I never got a hospital job so I settled for home health in the mean time to apply again. Most of the units hire 2-3 new grads each with thousands of applications its crazy

Which home health agency did you work for? Looking to apply there since I haven’t heard anything from the hospitals

Did anyone hear back from Children’s MH for labor and delivery?

Specializes in RN CCRN.

At this point just send the rejection letter or at least change my status to denied cause I need closure. In all seriousness though, why can’t we get jobs without going through the residency? Cause these spots are so small so I don’t get it. I’ve searched everywhere for Nursing Jobs but they want a year experience. I didn’t know it will be this hard

I saw some job openings on indeed that only requires RN License so I'll just focus on my NCLEX and pass it and then push for jobs so that I don't get hypertension. A friend that went to Ben Taub and already passed NCLEX in February got the job same day. I also heard that MH Pearland and Southeast are just rounding up applications and will start sending out emails soon. .

Did anyone apply for Hermann Southeast hospital and did you hear anything from them yet? Seems like they've only contacted those at TMC or Heights hospital.

I heard Southeast and Pearland are just about wrapping up applicants so they should contact us soon.

Thrive Pediatrics! Most of them have like a 6 month commitment or less so its not long term commitment

I saw on Memorial Hermann's facebook page they extended the Nurse Residency application deadline to 2/23 - I wonder if that could have pushed match day back for some locations.
I'm surprised no one on this forum has heard anything from Memorial Hermann Memorial City or the Woodlands locations.

I have honestly been doing everything in my power to not apply to HCA Healthcare hospitals ?

I heard back from Memorial Hermann Memorial City Neuro ICU yesterday!

Please any news from HM Baytown for interviews? Had my pre screening last week?

I had my pre-screening for Methodist Baytown med surge on 3/8, they called me a few days later to schedule an in-person interview for 3/23.

Hey guys! Has anybody already had their prescreening for Methodist OR? I'm nervous and kind of confused about the "prescreening" description of it, should we be like expecting regular interview questions?

Has anyone out there heard from Methodist The Woodlands at all? pre screening or otherwise? just wondering because they were my second choice and I know some of y’all have heard from both of your choices but I’ve only heard from one.

Just got my interview set up. Thought it was a scam at first because it's almost midnight ??
