Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

Thanks, let us know what they say. Did you see anything specific for The Woodlands? That’s my second choice, and if TMC is only acute care I would just rather apply to The Woodlands.

Will do and nope just Sugarland and Baytown. I put Sugarland as my second choice on ICU and that's actually listed already and I never got an email about it. And I totally agree just give me my second choice instead LOL

Mine says acute care too. I'm pretty sure they mean just not clinic/ long term care setting or something because technically acute care covers most everything in the hospital

what unit did you apply for? I really hope that's the case. I just know that when I was listening to the webinar for memorial hermann when they said "acute care" they meant med/surg they just called it acute care to try to be fancy LOL

Hey guys, so I applied to the acute care link from HM. however when I got the link for the assessment survey, it said I had already taken the assessment within 365 days and I don't need to do another one. I’ve never applied to HM or done an assessment with them, so I’m confused. Did this happen to anyone else? I’ve only completed a survey with Memorial Hermann...

Many jobs have the same assessment company’s so that may be why. Considering many have done numerous job applications.

For Methodist, do we get interviews for both of our location choices? Or if I hear back from one location can I assume I'm not being considered for the other?

I applied for MedSurg and NICU at Methodist West and MedSurg and ICU at Methodist Sugarland. I've only heard back from Sugarland about an interview for MedSurg...

I also put TMC ED first choice and got the email with acute care. I called HR and they didn't know anything about it and said I'd have to send an email to ask the nurse residency program so I did and haven't heard back yet. My understanding is that acute care is a unit that is basically med surg. Did anyone that put ED for TMC actually get an email with the ED job ID?

Has anyone that put Houston Methodist TMC as first choice for any position other than ED or OR gotten the email about moving forward?

Meee!! Have you heard anything from any hospital? I applied to Methodist, Memorial Hermann, St. Lukes, HCA and Harris Health

That happened to me too! I have done so many, I should've kept track of them but I can't remember doing one for HM
