Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

OMG thank you. if you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have ever applied. Earlier in this forum, someone said they were only hiring internally!!

You’re welcome ? I don’t think they were but recently changed that. My friend that works there let me know!

Yes, thank you! When I called earlier in January/February they said they weren’t accepting external. So glad they changed their mind!

I still haven’t received behavioral assessment from MH. My first choice was Memorial City location

Are the prescreening interviews for houston methodist virtual or in-person? Or does it vary by location?

It might be different for everybody but it was a one on one interview with an ER floor nurse and did ask general interview questions aka “tell me about yourself, why Methodist, etc”!! And they had some time for me to ask her questions!! It was so great!! Don’t be nervous! Definitely like an interview but easy

Prescreening interview is online.....I have mine today for willowbrook methodist

Had my last week with willowbrook and it was online
