Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

I was so nervous bc I truly didn’t know what it was gonna be like. It might be different for everybody but it was a one on one interview with an ER floor nurse and did ask general interview questions aka “tell me about yourself, why Methodist, etc”!! And they had some time for me to ask her questions!! It was so great!! Don’t be nervous! Definitely like an interview but easy

For the places that have a two year contract like Memorial or HCA, what happens if you break the contract? I've heard there's a monetary penalty but does anyone know how much or where I could find that info?

I know for the HCA facilities in Austin you have to pay them $10,000 if you break the contract

Did they tell you what happens next?

I asked. It was a floor nurse and she was like “I’m really not sure” but she did say that she thinks there is an additional round of interviews but was unsure of a timeline. She did say that the process can be a little long!

Has anyone heard from Methodist west in Katy or sugarland. Wondering why they taking a long time to send our emails for the prescreening.

Have you guys gotten an email from HCA Careers that say “Form 8850 - Pre-Screening Notice and Certification Request for the Work Opportunity Credit”?  Am I supposed to fill something out?

just got this general email from methodist. it sounds like nobody has heard from TMC or the woodlands yet have they? Those are the two I applied to

I applied to West and Willowbrook and haven't heard from either location.
