Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

If that is the case for all HCA owned  hospitals, that is awful. Not to discourage anyone but just thought it would be helpful information! 

I received different information from a webinar my school had with them. They said the contract was 2 yrs and starting pay was $29.50 (which is still low compared to other hospitals)

After my whole ordeal with them last week, she said as long as I try to interview ~month before the anticipated residency start date there will be positions open. If you're in contact with any recruiter specifically, just keep their number/email handy if it comes to that so you can contact them directly versus a main HR type email/number

Thanks, I'm going to put off applying so that I don't find myself in a situation where I have to consider accepting an offer before I've heard from other places

that’s what I’m going to do as well. It seems silly to rule out all of the other hospitals before their applications even close!

For this GN packet for Harris Health.. did y'all combine all of your documents onto one single big PDF file to email them? It says 1-PDF Packet...

Does anyone know if Harris Health has a two year commitment contract or any sort of contract? Also, any update on if Texas Children's will be hiring this cycle?

I combined mine into one 1-PDF. I think that’s what they mean

Was anyone here able to attend Children’s Memorial Hermann Virtual Pre Match earlier  that could give me a bit of info? Mostly interested in the units and spots open. Thanks!

I was able to attend. I took this screen shot of the units that are hiring and the FAQ. They said there is not a set amount they hire, that it’s based on how many apply to each unit and they strongly encouraged that we apply to whatever unit we feel passionate about!
