Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

I'm seeing that HCA is starting their hiring process but does anyone know when they'll stop? I don't want to apply just yet

Have you recieved yours? I applied on Tuesday 2/2 and haven't recieved mine

No, if I don't hear anything by tomorrow afternoon I'm reaching out. I read somewhere that people have had issues getting the email in the past

check your other email boxes.  I got their email delivered to spam

Hi my school actually held a career fair today and I confirmed with a few of my friends who met 1:1 with HCA that they require a 3 year contract and GN pay is $500 a week for 12 months. If that is the case for all HCA owned  hospitals, that is awful. Not to discourage anyone but just thought it would be helpful information!

Anyone wanting to apply to more than the 2 locations you can put for Methodist? Did yall just send multiple applications with different locations?

Honestly, I was gonna send multiple applications but didn't know if it was right. Also, do anyone know if Houston methodist received their application?

You do not have to worry about that.  They are always hiring

After my whole ordeal with them last week, she said as long as I try to interview ~month before the anticipated residency start date there will be positions open. If you're in contact with any recruiter specifically, just keep their number/email handy if it comes to that so you can contact them directly versus a main HR type email/number

I already declined an offer and I have no plan to apply again.

HCA requires 2 years contract not 3 years.  The information about the pay is correct.  They are the lowest paying hospital in Houston.
