Houston Baptist University FNP

Hello! I was writing to see if anyone has applied to the HBU FNP or PNP program. I am looking into my options since a hiccup in my personal life disallowed me to accept another schools offer, and found the HBU program which is all online and now accredited. The website is very vague in terms of application process and admission requirements, however I am very curious on the offerings the program has. I have reached out to the school, but have yet to hear from them and would love the insight from other current/prospective students.

Does HBU FNP program accept any BSN degree? For example, WGU has the pass/fail option - would they accept graduates from that program? or Capella has the Flex RN to BSN program - would they accept a degree from that institution?

So I'm assuming students that prefer the 16 weeks courses will not be working?

And if you are, how do you plan to manage the 3 courses both with studying, completing assignments, and working??

Because I would have actually preferred the 8 weeks. Not sure I could keeo this up O.o

So I imagine it’s based on a ranking system thus you want to be as competitive as possible. Me personally, I have dual bachelors from UNiversity of Texas and University of Colorado. My thinking was they want someone that will complete and has shown success. Shine as bright as you can-that’s the name of the game!!

Hello! I have been accepted for the FNP program for HBU. I am interested because its a shorter time frame and flexible. i have seen reviews on google saying it is a horrible nursing school, and I saw you stated earlier in the thread that you were attending this school? can you give me some more insight?

i got it some times last week like tuesday and a second one on wednesday because they sent incorrect information on the first email..

i have heard they do interviews sometimes, i didnt have to do one, so maybe theres still a possibility. and can i ask why it was your first choice? do you know anyone who has done the program?

Personally, no, but I have heard HBU is just an all around amazing school. I like the size of it. Plus, I am 2 hours outside of Houston and I wanted a school close by If I wanted the opportunity to attend skills sessions I could.
