Hello! I was writing to see if anyone has applied to the HBU FNP or PNP program. I am looking into my options since a hiccup in my personal life disallowed me to accept another schools offer, and found the HBU program which is all online and now accredited. The website is very vague in terms of application process and admission requirements, however I am very curious on the offerings the program has. I have reached out to the school, but have yet to hear from them and would love the insight from other current/prospective students.

Yes, I am currently in the program and have enjoyed it. 8 wk courses so u ll take 2 classes each semester. I enjoy the Instructors so no complaints on my side. I have kids and a full time job which I don’t think will be an issue until the very end when clinical requirements are thick and heavy.

The application process was simple, submit it and unofficial transcripts. They do interviews although I was automatically admitted due to my academic hx. That’s about it.

Also curious. I put an app in for PNP Fall 2019. Does anyone know if they provide clinical sites or if we would have to find our own?

Yes and No Catie, they do have a list of facilities that have taken their students before and have current agreements with. If you want something particular then you can find a preceptor, which is what I did. I wanted someone close to my house and a clinic that had extended hours so I could accommodate myself when things get busy.

Hey, I have been accepted into the Fall program. Do you feel that the 8 weeks are long enough to retain and learn the information?

Hey! Just a heads up they are changing our cohort to 16 week courses. They made calls last week saying they are changing the curriculum to 9 credit hours of courses, all 16 weeks in length based on the previous cohorts feedback. (For the PNP cohort anyways)

That’s good to know because I honestly feel that that is a rush. I would prefer 11-16 weeks.I will call to see if they are doing that for the FNP program.

There are some semesters that I ve had to really “cram”, namely Advanced Pharm, but for the most part I spend a block amount time daily dedicated to school and it has been enough. I personally get burned out quicker when classes are in longer blocks so this works fabulously for me. I also have retained info similarly as if I was in a regular semester course.

I've been accepted into the FNP program for this fall and received email regarding the 16 weeks classes. I'm still not sure how the program is going to play out. After the 16 weeks, are we breaking for the Christmas and then return in January? Anybody has an idea about that. Julie

I have applied for the Spring 2020 FNP program, and was wondering how their acceptance process works? I am eagerly awaiting the end of September to be here because that's when they said a decision would be made. Any advice or encouragement would be much appreciated!
