Houston Baptist University FNP

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello! I was writing to see if anyone has applied to the HBU FNP or PNP program. I am looking into my options since a hiccup in my personal life disallowed me to accept another schools offer, and found the HBU program which is all online and now accredited. The website is very vague in terms of application process and admission requirements, however I am very curious on the offerings the program has. I have reached out to the school, but have yet to hear from them and would love the insight from other current/prospective students.

Personally, no, but I have heard HBU is just an all around amazing school. I like the size of it. Plus, I am 2 hours outside of Houston and I wanted a school close by If I wanted the opportunity to attend skills sessions I could.

Oh i see, I live like 5 hours away! but i liked that it was mainly online format, where else did you apply? i applied at TWU and was also accepted but that program is longer and its further almost 8 hours away from me.

I also Applied to UT Heath and science in Houston. The only thing I am worried about with HBU is my experience. I am right around 3 years of ER Experience and I felt My grades weren’t terrible. I know they are a private university so it is a little more competitive.

i also applied at UT health! but i had an issue with them receiving my reference letters! it was annoying.. i had my references send them multiple times because they also wouldnt let me know whos they did and did not receive. and i dont think it has to do iwht experience i have two years of pedi experience and one as a RN case manager for home health.

Yes!!! It was absolutely annoying! I had to resend my transcripts twice because they didn’t receive them through the parchment and they were particularly nice about it either! Well that is good to know! I feel A little better knowing that! I attended for my bachelors but I saw they are also a competency based program so I was Hoping that wouldn’t hurt anything because some schools don’t accept WGU

THey have been rude! When i called to get information they were horrible, they sounded so annoyed! And theyre program requires more campus visits! they said at least once or more a month throughout the program, and i hadnt realized that not every one accepts . i took my bsn with UT arlington
