Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.
I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?
What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?
Well I looked on Hawknet Web Advisor today and it lists all the things (like USF transcripts, App fee, CLEP, HS transcript, background check form, etc.) that I sent in with my application but next to each item it says "Not Received" needed "ASAP".

BTW,My check has still not cleared the bank yet?
In the e mail they sent me it says that it will say "not received" until the office updates it.
Thanks eyoung! Yes, I'll continue to work but my job is fairly easy for the most part (claims), and I'm nudging my boss to swing a work at home schedule by sometime this summer.
How the heck did you survive both A&P 1 & 2 in one semester, much less a condensed summer one!?! That's good practice for the massive info dump that I suspect awaits all of us in the nursing program
That's great! I would continue working from home if I could. It's nice that you have a boss who you can talk to. I would love to work from home! If there are days that I'm not in class (in the fall), I think I'll substitute teach when I can. That way, I won't feel like such a bum. I know it was my boyfriend's idea that I just went to school, but I still feel the need to be a little responsible for the bills, even if it's a minor contribution. I do receive a child support check, but it definitely takes more than the check to provide for my two year old!
As far as squeezing in A&P I & II over one summer... it was hell. When I made up my mind about nursing school, I knew that I needed to finish my pre-reqs ASAP. SO, I made up my mind to make A's regardless of what was going on (work, etc). I took A&P I at SCF, from May until July (I think) and registered for A&P II at HCC, which ran from the beginning of July until August. The two classes basically just overlapped during A&P I's final week. So, we weren't learning new material, just reviewing for the test. A&P II was a lot less stressful and a lot easier! Plus, I was off for the summer (from teaching), so I had more time to study.
Janury is pretty much done... and February is almost upon us!!! And its the SHORTEST of all 12 months... which means are letters are that much closer to getting here!!!!
However, my check has been cashed and I finally received my SASE over the weekend. Come on HCC!
