Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011

Published

Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.

I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?

What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?

I got my email confirmation today! Counting down the days!!!!

My check was cashed but I haven't received any emails or there's nothing showing on my documents.. I gave in all my transcript from all the colleges I attended. I hope all the credit are accepted because if not they should cash my check..

I emailed the Health Science department (to their general email address) inquiring about when they would inform nursing applicants of whether or not they were accepted. I sent this about two weeks ago (I think). Anyway, they responded sometime yesterday and said that applicants would be informed by mid-April.

Mid April sounds so far from now.. I hate waiting!

I know. Me too. I'm the most impatient person I know! I just read through spring roll call of 2011. It looks like their GPA, prior to alternates was a 3.4? I'm so worried that my 3.57 isn't going to be good enough, especially since I keep hearing that fall is more difficult to get into. I'm going to have an ulcer by March.

Did anyone request the SouthShore campus? I live in Bradenton and am hoping to get into that campus, because it's the closest. I wonder which campus is requested the most?

mid april?! I hope thats the worst case scenario because going through past posts i noticed it was like mid March.... UGH more waiting... as long as I registration evaluates my transcripts I know that they'll have my GPA calculated correctly... thats my BIGGEST fear... an appeal because they jacked something up... anyhow staying positive :-) Good we're basically done with January and February is the shortest month of the year so.... we'll be fine....

I hear ya! I'm afraid they won't use my calculus grade, which was a B, and use the C in algebra instead. Ugh. I don't want to have to go through the appeal process over a miscalculation. I also hope that, besides those of us here, that there were mostly of 2.0 GPA applicants! :) I've been stalking the former threads and reading about how they purchased their scrubs, stethoscopes, etc. I'm jealous!

OMG, mid April?? Like someone else said, I hope that's a worst case scenario!!!! I read back to fall 2010 thread and they started receiving their letters on March 9th. The wait is already killing me! I was hoping that I would drop off my application and just forget about it all together until I received an acceptance/denial letter in the mail. No such luck! Happy waiting everyone!

I applied for Plant City Day program. I really contemplated do the night/weekend program but decided I wasn't ready to give up all of those Saturdays!

I was ready to sign up for the night/weekend program until I met my boyfriend a year ago. He suggested that I simply went to school, rather than working (teaching) and going to night school. He said he was being selfish (because he would never see me), but I think he's an angel. I would also be missing out on time with my two year old. It was hard enough taking the prerequisites at night for the last year, so I can't imagine how I could handle missing out on Saturdays with my little man and my boyfriend.

Anyone have an updates?

I just got my email acknowledgment. Finally!

I haven't gotten the email acknowledgement yet, but My Documents section shows a list of nursing application required docs as 'not received.' I'm so nervous about missing paperwork, although I know I quadruple checked my package before I turned it in! Anyone know how long it takes for them to update?

I signed up for PC night/weekend, although my first choice would've been DM campus as it's closer. So at least the upside of getting turned down this semester is trying for spring 2012 at my campus of choice.

Your bf is a sweetheart! With our 2nd child due in July, my husband and I are crossing our fingers we can pull through 2 yrs of 1-day weekends without losing our minds...IF I get in. It's been ten years in the making, trying to get into nursing school. And with us something has always come up to get me to put off applying. I figured I could at least start trying to put my foot in there, before another decade passes by lol
