Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.
I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?
What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?
You're so lucky. I wish there was a way of know exactly how many applications were turned in for the fall semester. They should have a count by now, wouldn't you think? My documents are still "not received." Oh well, it's good to know that they're in the process of receiving them! One and a half more months. :)
Just checked mine and it's still listed as not received also. I think my advisor said somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-600 apps each fall?
I didn't see any stuident acknowledgement for financial aid form as part of the required docs. Did you apply for it when you submitted the HCC application? I'm wondering if that's something that's mistakenly flagged on your regular admission application. Maybe a trip to the Admissions office is needed.
My documents are all showing as received also, and I turned my app in on the last week of the deadline. We're getting there you guys! :)
Hello,
I am looking into several options to begin my Nursing career. Does anyone know if you are able to apply for your LPN license after completing so much time in the HCC RN program? It is normally a year. My best friends Mom did this at a school up in New England. Was wondering if it works the same in FL? Thank you in advance for any information!
Although my documents are still showing not received, my application has shown up under "progress toward degree." It's probably been that way for a while and I just noticed.
Monarch - I'm not sure about being able to apply for your LPN license. I know that SCF (formerly MCC) does not allow for this and that HCC works closely with SCF. It's definitely something I would be interested in finding more about. I would love to be able to obtain an LPN license before graduating as an RN!
Thank you eyoung1975. I appreciate your response. I will contact HCC to find out more information. I will update once I know for sure.Does anyone know if there is currently a waiting list for the RN program at HCC?
There is not a waiting list for HCC, it goes solely on your GPA for all the prereqs. They take the highest GPA's
There are no waiting lists at HCC. You have to take all of their required prerequisites, apply and then they accept students based on their prereq. GPAs. Last fall, the lowest GPA was around a 3.4, but then they accepted alternates (with lower GPAs). If you aren't accepted, you can apply the following semester. Good times. :-/
My transcripts are still the only things listed as rec'vd... my only satisfaction is that they sent me an email saying they rec'vd my app. and etc. I know they cashed my deposit because it shows up under my payments and such... I sent another batch of transcripts to Admissions and I'm still waiting for them to evaluate my transcripts.... ugh....
anyhow... it should be another 5 1/2 weeks before we hear official word... (if things go as they did in prior rounds)
