Hi, I'm fairly new around here too. I have quickly become an allnurses addict. It has been so helpful. The moderators are always very informative too. Congrats on taking the first steps to your new career and best wishes.

Hi there!! :groupwelcome:
My name is Lori and I have been going to school since the Summer semester of 2004 taking 2 classes at a time. I, too, have a 1 year old!! My dd Amelia was born last September 15 and has been such a joy. I took a little time off to be with her, but just started up again with an online course this Fall and I'm slowly getting used to it again...although it's a little different with a little one running around!
Best of luck to you in your courses and I hope that a lot of your previous classes will count towards this degree...how great would that be??!!:w00t:
Looking foward to chatting with you!! And again, welcome!

You can never have too many Congradulations!!!!
:groupwelcome: :groupwelcome: :groupwelcome:
This is a great place to ask questions and add some of the knowledge you have gained when someone else needs help. Plus when you get that acceptance letter into the program of your choice there are a ton of people here to congradulate you. It is nice to see another person on board.

Hi and welcome! I also have two sons, ages 3 and 18 months, and I just started my pre-req's this fall in the ASN program. I have a previous BA, and a year's worth of credits from that degree did transfer over! Yay! I will apply for clinicals at the end of the spring semester with hopes of getting in for Fall '07. Anyway, best wishes to you, and again - welcome! :)

Thank you all for your warm welcome. Since I already have a BA I initially thought I would apply at Stonybrook University and do the 12 month accelerated BS program, BUT after careful consideration I think at this stage in my life, I will apply to Suffolk Community College's 2 year Associates Program. This way I will not feel totally overwhelmed
Cramming two years of work into one year of accellerated study can be overwhelming. I can't say I blame you at all. Good luck.
