Help Pls...ca Nclex Passer Without Ssn

World Immigration

Hi there.. I hope someone could enlighten me with this..

I recently passed the NCLEX RN CA and will be taking the IELTS real soon. I'm in the Philippines and I don't have an SSN. Thus, I was informed that they cannot issue me my license. Add to that, they would destroy my file 3 years without their receipt of my SSN.

I don't have any idea on what to do next. How do I get this SSN? Am aware that they cannot issue me SSN since I'm not a US citizen nor have I ways to go there. Should I just find an agency to do all the works for me or should I apply for my visa screen? Cause I was thinking of applying for my visa screen first before I find my agency plus I will be starting work only only next month.

Can someone tell me the process of how to get a visa screen? The steps and who to contact, through the internet perhaps. I really have no idea how to do it.

Another thing is my family's suggesting to transfer my license to another state..Again, how do I go about it? Is my license needed before I can apply for reciprocity..I was thinking maybe NY, Florida or Chicago.

I'm sorry I have too many questions..I hope many could reply to my queries. Thanks in advance

hi another question is...because i apply my nclex in california...there is no way for me to work in other state like texas.until i get an ssn number for me to have a license?... so if i be going to US... i should be first working in california.?

No, you do not need to work in CA first. You will have to apply to Texas and comply with their requirements for getting licensed there. If Texas was really where you wanted to work, it would have been better to have applied there outright rather go on a merry-go round

Pls. visit their website to find out what their requirements are. You will not need to re-take the exam but you will have to apply to them. You will either request Ca BRN to send a copy of the letter that you passed the NCLEX already or if they allow you to send it yourself. Normally, they only accept what is sent officially by CA BRN and only very few States allow such letter be sent directly by the applicant itself.

Some lets you apply for Licensure By Examination since technically you cannot Endorse to them since C does not give the hard license and just provide the letter from CA BRN and they will waive the Examination.

Others let you apply by endorsement and accepts the letter as well while other States such as Vermont does not differentiate a Licensure by Examination and Licensure by Endorsement and they take it as one as long as you are a foreign-educated RN.

You will have to go to Texas' website for that to find out for yourself since each BON has different policies regarding endorsing to them but no matter how they do it, you will not have to re-take the NCLEX again but just a matter of providing proof that you took and passed it already.

Im not really sure if Texas requires SSN but one things for sure, you cannot use your relative's SSN. You have to provide them with your own. And the only way to do so is to have a working or an immigrant visa to be able to prove that you are legal to work there. Hope this message will help you somehow.. =)

once you take the nclex exam and passed it, you don't have to take it again.

if you are planning to go for vt, then you just have to apply for endorsement/application. in vt, their application for foreign nurses are the same for initial licensure and licensure by endorsement. in most states, it is a separate application but fortunately in vt it is one and the same.

you just need to send in your copy of test results to them that you passed the nclex. there is no score in nclex. it's just either a pass or a fail.

please go ahead and download vt's application (initial licensure/endorsement) and read the instructions.

one member here, interpreted the instructions that the applicant can send in their copy of passing nclex themselves after reading the instructions, some just went ahead and just requested ca brn to send in an official copy of test results ($10 in ca brn's website) to be sure.

if you will have further inquiries regarding the details, pls. e-mail or call the contact person indicated on the application form for foreign-educated nurses.

hi moderators..

can i ask your opinion on this particular scenario..

retrogression is ongoing and no one can tell when it ends..

you guys have already answered the question on what to do to about endorsement to other states or re application..

now, lets say that our test result/reapplication/endorsement was accepted in another state... is their an expiry of application in another state?

what happens during expiry?

do we have to endorse again to another state?

how many times can we go state-hopping just to preserve our nclex result?

my grateful thanks to all moderators for helping us to find solutions for our dilemmas..

all licenses have an expiry date but each bon/brn have their own dates. some expire on even years ie 2008,2010 etc, others are every 2 years and so on. usually to re new (complete form and fee) you need to complete ceu's (continual education) and these can be done online. you do not have to endorse to another state and i believe most states are understanding of retrogression and not being able to provide a ssn at this time it is just a case of discussing with them via letter before your license expires if they do require a ssn to re new

thank you soooo much...

hi again.. last question..

have you known someone who has been granted by CA BON to just reapply as NCLEX passer thru licensure by examination without SSN...

because in my part, i am willing to pay again the application fee just to avoid (if possible) endorsement to another state or send passing result after my application record expires in 3 years.. after all, i like to have my record stay at CA BON..

thanks

Unfortunately, you are unable to do that with CA. You cannot reapply until after your file is expired, and then your results would be gone.

It is not a big deal to get licensed in another state and then endorse back to CA if and when you get a visa.

There will be no record of passing of the NCLEX for you to use, that is the point that we have been trying to make all along.

Hi everybody

this website has helped me a lot since I decided to start the long road of immigration to USA :banghead:. I passed my NCLEX last Jun and already have a job offer . The hospital attorney contacted me and asked to send a letter to CA board of nursing and request a copy of my candidate report in order to start filling for I-140 petition.

I sent a letter and money order for $10 for the service fee but what I received 3 weeks later? it was only a simple copy of the last letter from CBN indicating that I passed the exam and requsting for SSN.

Cut the story short, I'm really fed up calling the board and getting different answers. some of the advisers say that this is the only form of NCLEX result that they issue and some say that they have already sent me a copy of the candidate report which I think, they mean the lawsy copy of SSN request that I already have in my hands.

Anybody has had the same problem? any comments?

Hi and welcome

As far as I am aware this is all that they will give you, letter stating you meet Ca requirements for immigration.

Thanx a lot that was the quickest reply i could get from a public forum

Thanks for your quick reply, but my agent says that she had so many other applicants who requested their candidate report and she is also suprised why they only sent a copy of SSN letter istead of the NCSBN report.

The letter should be enough as it states by Ca that you passed NCLEX. I can't remember asking NY or Az (had license in both states) for anything like this when lawyers filed by I140 admittedly was a couple years ago but know I had no other fees to pay
