Hi there.. I hope someone could enlighten me with this..
I recently passed the NCLEX RN CA and will be taking the IELTS real soon. I'm in the Philippines and I don't have an SSN. Thus, I was informed that they cannot issue me my license. Add to that, they would destroy my file 3 years without their receipt of my SSN.
I don't have any idea on what to do next. How do I get this SSN? Am aware that they cannot issue me SSN since I'm not a US citizen nor have I ways to go there. Should I just find an agency to do all the works for me or should I apply for my visa screen? Cause I was thinking of applying for my visa screen first before I find my agency plus I will be starting work only only next month.
Can someone tell me the process of how to get a visa screen? The steps and who to contact, through the internet perhaps. I really have no idea how to do it.
Another thing is my family's suggesting to transfer my license to another state..Again, how do I go about it? Is my license needed before I can apply for reciprocity..I was thinking maybe NY, Florida or Chicago.
I'm sorry I have too many questions..I hope many could reply to my queries. Thanks in advance
Hi! I passed the NCLEX-RN in 2008 and since I do not hold a social security number, I was unable to get a license. I have already used the document that indicates that I passed the NCLEX in obtaining my VisaScreen, and I have already applied for an immigrant visa through an agency. I also started processing my ENDORSEMENT (CVS)for NY state just this january 2011. However, my file will be destroyed by the board of nursing of california if I have not submitted an SSN this may 2011. How can I resolve this problem? I am willing to pay any fee as long as my file stays with the CA BRN. Their website only discussed renewal options for those who are actually licensed.
I hope somebody could help me. Thank you very much!
You may need to transfer your NCLEX-RN pass results to another state that doesn't require a ss# for licensure. The BRN in CA will NOT issue a license with out a ss# period. New Mexico and Vermont are two states that don't seem to require a ss# check those BRN websites for the information also CA for information what you need to do next. Good Luck
I am a Canadian LPN, looking to take the LPN to RN bridge in Arizona as an International Student. If I am accepted would I be able to remain in, and work in, Arizona upon graduation. Thanks for any information anyone could give me. :)
You will need to find a employer and I am not sure but you may find for the TN visa you may need BSN, if looking for immigrant visa then you will be affected by retrogression. However if a full time student you may find you can use OPT for 12 months as long as applied for before you graduate

Most states require CES by CGFNS or some other form of assessment done by another approved establishment, looking for a state that doesn't require this really is down to you looking at the various websites for the boards of nursing.
