I have been accepted into an ADN program. This is my second degree and have almost run out of loans. Does anyone know how I can get money for school? I don't qualify for grants. I llooked into nursing scholarships from surrounding hospitals in exchange for working with tr m after graduation but most of them don't offer it any more. Please help.
I am in the Jackson, Mississippi area
If paying out of pocket will not cover it an/or scholarships, you most likely need to look into private loans. I go through FASFA now for my RN but for LPN I had to get a private loan because I was 19 and my parents income counted even though I didn't live with them. I go a decent interest rate, I think they key is to continue to pay them even while your in school again, do not defer. I have made full payments while in school and it's knocked down a good chunk. I hope for my LPN loan to be almost gone when I graduate in 18 months.
If you can wait, I would try to save some money up to pay as you go, it's very doable if your at a community college. Good luck!!
Hi OP. I also have a Bachelors of Science in History and an MFA (I'm sure many people here will approve of that one!). I loved and still love my work and work history but it's time for a change. I too had to take out some small private loans to help with costs but I am still working (as a teacher). You can do it. Just keep an eye out on student jobs to help both pay for the program and get you more experience so you are even a better candidate when you graduate so you can pay everything back ASAP. I start my RN program tomorrow. Best of luck to you!
I am beginning to wonder about this site. The one question I asked was viewed hundreds of times and never answered. Then this and other people ask questions and get nothing but bullies...no help. Why is this forum here if not for questions like this???
This is a public forum. People are going to share their opinion and they aren't going to sugar coat it just to make people feel better about themselves. That doesn't make them bullies.

I don't think you understand what bullying is.

Hmmmm...but teaching somehow would pay off your loans and pay for nursing school ..I wonder if tutoring would work for you.. flexible hours, good pay, seems like they are in demand too, I always see ads for tutors wanted! I actually thought about obtaining a minor in something like math or chemistry mainly so I could tutor in that area.
