Published

i am a new grad (graduated in may 09 still have no experience) i have an interview for elmhurst's er. just wondering has anyone recently interviewed at elmhurst? does anyone know what the interview process is like? any tips and/or pointers? what can i expect? what kinds of question do they ask? any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi! First of all congrats on scoring an interview! Second, how did you even get it!? I've applied to Elmhurst multiple times and even mailed a resume to them and I never got one call! Are you BSN? Sorry I can't help you out :( I suggest you check out the Johns Hopkins Interview Guide. I heard it's REALLY helpful! Good luck!

i have an associates in nursing. where can i find the john hopkins interview guide?

I just google searched it and it came up. It comes in pdf format so you can print it out. I just used a spare notebook and answered every question they have there in it. I think that's all you can really do since you don't know what they'll ask. I suggested this guide to my friend who was going for an interview and she said like 95% of the questions she was asked came from the guide!

Did you apply to Elmhurst online? I guess I'm just not lucky! :(

Specializes in ICU.

there is a lot of luck involved. But I've heard a lot of new grad are having a hard time finding jobs esp. in NYC.

sayang (if you don't mind my asking) do you have a bsn?

orgo geek- i revied the interview guide and those are the exact questions I was asked. Also some recruiters are very laid back and will ask you social questions, what your hobbies are, any good book or movie you've read? Just to get a feel of who you are!

No, I have an ADN. That's why I asked if orgogeek had a BSN because Elmhurst usually puts "BSN preferred" on their job posts. Ahhh! I hope I get a call sometime soon! I'm already starting to pay back my loans. :(

It's nice to hear someone other than my husband say what you did. I hope both of you are correct.
