Gentle, TMI TMI TMI lalalalalala.................j/k Glad to have you back. I need you to keep me motivated.llg, nice to see you on the thread again. I've been working my abs for years and feel the same way, that there's a six pack hidden beneath that middle aged spread somewhere. LOL
Unfortunately I forgot about a party and went last night had had sweets and chips. My bad. This time of year is very hard for me, but hopefully will have enough good days to offset the bad.
Well I'm praying I make it thru - even one nibble and I am off like a race horse, sigh... it's so sad.
Hello everyone,
Today, was a work day. Not too bad a bit humorus (?sp). My buddy asked me to switch patients and if I was okay with the suicide attempt people; I didn't hear her very well though.
I thought she wanted to order sushi!!!! Well, that conversation took place at 0745. The day went on from there with a suicide attempt patient and no sushi!
I think I may be having some issues over here. First the toilet, then the hearing. No my head isn't stuck in my bumbum.
Oh, and did I mention that one of the other nurses asked if I was into acting/drama. I replied "not usually outside of my home."
And then my ohhhhh so graceful response to another person calling my name from the hallway. I was in the above mentioned patient's room when I heard someone call my name. Of all the things to say, yes, I said it: "[insert my name] is dead, she can't help you."
The sitter kindly corrected me and redirected my inappropriate remark to something more suitable and supportive for the deeply saddened suicidal patient. Yes, this was all before 1045 this morning. What a day.
Well, my eating wasn't too bad today. I tried to be prudent and drink more hot tea with artificial sweetner and lemon juice rather than snacking on junk. I just need to remember to take my stevia tea bags with me to work. I didn't get the jittery feeling today from a caffine overdose because, I had enough sleep last night.
The hardest part is feeling hungry when I get home. I had 1 serving of sliced turkey, 1 serving of all-bran crackers, 1/2 serving of almonds, and approximately 3.5 cups of soy chocolate milk. (only planned on 2 cups of hot chocolate; but I boiled it over onto the stove. I gave up.)
Well, I guess that's all for now. I had a good day today. I hope everyone else did too.
BTW, thanks for all the responses guys. Have a great day.
If you mean what I think you mean, I know what you mean! lol!
I mean the moment when going to the toilet in a hurry becomes my cardio workout with strength training and stretching.
I try to laugh about the situation to help lighten the emotional load. Sometimes it helps to laugh. Because, on the inside, I am frustrated.
Some people say that I look fine right now. Geez, they don't wake up in the morning with pain in their left heel as soon as they put weight on it. (And yeah, I mean every morning.) They don't feel my back pain, hip pain, or achy knees. And, I ache often.
I want to make my body happier. So my soul feels more comfortable being carried around inside my body.
Gentle, that meal sounds goods but no veggies? You know how I am about veggies! That heel pain is sounds like the plantar fascitis that I've been suffering with the last few months. It's a classic symptom that morning pain. Maybe the bowel problems are just a change in diet and will regulate itself soon. Also, you might try probiotics. I'm a fan of Bio-K (listed on the link I'll inclose), it's very expesnsive but it seems to help when things aren't right. I took it when I was on heavy duty antiobitics for MRSA and didn't have a bit of a problems. http://www.deliciousorganics.com/Controversies/fermentedfoods.htm
Otherwise I make sure I eat yogurt or a similar food several times a week.
Mind if I join the party? I've developed the slow but steady "nursing student spread". :uhoh21:Suddenly I've got at least 15 pounds to lose! Current weight- 145, height 5'5. No, not overweight yet, but I need to do something before this becomes a problem. I've always been around 120-125. I exercise pretty regularly- lots of weight training, but not nearly enough cardio. Plus I work nights, which has really messed with my metabolism. Anyway, I'm on Phase 1, day 2 of the South Beach Diet- just giving it a try. Gotta break my carb- snacking habit, b/c it hasn't helped my waistline. I already miss pasta... and potatoes.... and bread... and fruit. Sigh. But only 12 more days without them- not forever.
My goal for the next four weeks: keep up the weight training, add one extra cardio session a week, and stick with the South Beach Diet plan. I'm not going to make a specific weight loss goal because I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. I'd just like to be able to button my pants- not safety pin them closed, lol.
So today I followed my meal plan faithfully. It wasn't too bad. And I did some weight training at the gym. Tomorrow morning I'll go do some cardio before class.

Hi Tweety,
You know, I am avoiding vegetables. Huh, never realized that one before. And I know why . . . used to eat using the Body Ecology Diet. I burned out. Thanks for the feed back, Tweety.
The kids and I walked to school this morning. Ds2 and I finished our walk, which lasts for about 1hour. Breakfast was cereal and yogurt. Snacks were wheat thins and all bran crackers and almonds. Lunch was not to good, on the go. Snack time was all bran crackers and grapes.
Time to go. Gotta start dinner . . . yes, with vegetables included.
Oh yeah, thanks for the hint about the plantar fascitis. I will be reading more about this.
I am doing Atkins (yes, I know) for a couple of weeks. I am back to my highest weight and I just HAVE to knock some off. I start running - which I miss - and my knees hurts which, guess what, is directly related to the excess 50 - 60 pounds attached to this lard butt!
So I'm turning ketones sticks maroon amd am already heartly sick of bacon. Just two weeks on this and then to a sounder plan.
There is literally ONE WW meet a week in this town and they won't accept the special combo on-line discount membership. I am NOT paying $60 a month for it.
*sigh*

Don't feel all alone - I just recently finished the induction of Atkins too . . I did 3 weeks. I didn't have any bacon. I did get sick of eggs though.
I found Atkins protein shakes on sale . . . bought a whole bunch. They have 2 grams of carbs.
Mixed up tuna and egg salad - I liked that but got tired of it too.
Lots of salads with chicken and boiled eggs on top.
I lost 10 pounds.
