Today was a 5 vegetable serving kinda day. Basically all the meals were healthy.
Wow! awesome!
Today has not been one of my better food days. Good bkfst, bagel w/ cream cheese for very late supper (9 pm) and chips to end the day. My excuse is that I am tired and cranky ... and didn't have time to eat earlier.
Looks like even if you are hitting the gym/exercising your little ticker out the wazoo, if you sit a lot, your bod will hang onto fat... Joined WW just prior to a trip to the ER for a RAGING case of bacterial conjunctivitis! No pink eye for me, went straight to the nasty stuff.... ps - It snowed today, 2 inches. That's why I'm shoveling... How much did you get, Sarah?
Sedentary that would be me ... I am so sorry about the conjunctivitis!! wow! Glad about WW, good for you!
I've been good sticking to the veggie (high carb) diet since Thanksgiving and a couple of pounds are off. Today's a cover dish at work and I'm bringing hot wings, so there goes the diet today.
Hi Tweety - we are gonna beat this thing one way or t'other!
I am feeling a lot better and so that is keeping me motivated!!
Awesome, that's the spirit!
Good luck w/ the exams/labs!
My body is getting weird though. Overall, I have lost about 35 pounds over the past year. Actually, I lost 40 and gained 5 back. Lately, though, my fat seems to be moving south. It's as if all the exercise I have been doing is shaping up my upper body, but not my lower half. That seems weird to me because when I first started losing weight, it came off the bottom half first. It's just weird.
That's how I am losing too.. but I don't mind, gravity is not kind to the "top half" anyway lol
Well, I'm down 5 as of this morrning.
I tried to run this morning - well, I actually wog, more a cross between a waddle and a jog - and it is simply not possible using ketone bodies as your energy source. So I trotted, slowly, for a bit over a mile and ate a banana. Last night I had a couple of slices of nice whole grain bread AND a banana and I'm still turning those ketostix maroon.
I have to eat some real food. I am ^not^ a Neanderthal.

Wog. ha ha very funny.
Yeah, what about that, does the low Carb mean muscle wasting?
In my case I am just avoiding flour and sugar so there is not much wasting going on lol
My bp is still up so I had to increase my dose today - BUMMER!
Went to the movies last night and stopped by the Ben & Jerry's ice cream store. It was good. I guess I could have gotten a fruit smoothie, or a Italian Ice, but didn't. My bad.
It seems I've lost my committment and willpower to 100% stick to the diet, that it's just in spots. I might have to wait until the new year to 100% commit. I'm having a party this weekend and will not diet then either. But if I had a few healthy meals/days in there, I'll be o.k.
If I ever whine about not loosing this weight, you'll know why and you can call me on it and tell me to shut up. LOL

lol -- k, we will
ROFL Tweety! Yeah, I know what you mean about making the food thing a new year's resolution, I keep having trouble with that one myself. I am great about the exercise, but the dieting is rough. Yesterday, my diet consisted of several gingerbread men, some pudding, and for supper a bit of roast with jalapenos, potatoes and carrots. The latter was not too bad, but the complete sugar rush before hand was not good for me and I am feeling it this morning, LOL!
Suesquatch, I like the wog too, that is totally me, hehe. Glad I have a name for it now!
Hi Zoe & everybody!
Hope y'all have a happy, healthy day!

Hi, y'all. I'm just reporting in to try to keep myself on track. It's always encouraging to read about everyone else's efforts -- and successes. I didn't have any trouble eating too much Thanksgiving food because my trip home to see my family got cancelled due to car troubles. So ... I still took my vacation days and stayed home and tried to catch up on work from my second job (teaching a class at a local university). With few temptations in the house, I was able to be pretty good with my diet. I also did a 30-45 minute exercise tape every day.
Unfortunately, I've only lost 1 pound this past week -- but at lease I LOST a pound rather than GAINED a pound. I keep reminding myself that if I can do that every week, I will be more than satisfied.
