Ok folks, time has come to Start anew.......over 1000 posts means LOTS of bandwidth use here at allnurses.com. So I have been asked to remedy the situation.....

QOD: What is your favorite "old" or "new" healthy food/recipe? Care to share?
I have "rediscovered" oatmeal. Yep old fashioned good ole Quaker Oats-----the slow cooked kind.....with raisins, a bit of cinnamon and some Splenda.....YUMMY. Eating this as my dh's cholesterol and lipid counts were very high---trying to clean up my own dietary practices to help him with his....anyhow.....
Anyone else? As you change/grow/develop new tastes, what are your "old" or "new" healthier-choice favorites??? Care to share????

no money to shop with this christmas...not yet anyway...but, i have faith, and i truly do believe with all my heart, mind, and soul that "it is in the mail"and "on it's way" to me :biggringi because god said it, i believe it, and that settles it for me. :balloons:
Good evening. Sounds like everyone survived the Holiday. Dh and I did not have seconds or the extra mini meal @ 10p that we usually do. But we enjoyed every bite of our meal guiltlessly. Fell off the wagon on Weds though. We went to see a band and I consumed large amounts of non lite beer (this will always be my downfall).
Hi Tweety and Deb.........glad you enjoyed indulging as well. I did the whole shopping thing today this year. Went out at 4am with my SIL....dodged the crazed lunatics and got just about everything. :w00t:

I had a spinach salad with turkey on it, fruits and veggies. I am going out later tonight with friends. I managed to go to the gym today.
I'm going flea marketing early tomorrow, but skipped the shopping today.

Well the tree and decorations are up. We decided to do it now as next week is so busy we may not have time---kids are really pumped now....

I was thinking of getting a tree today, which is odd since I thought I had decided NOT to have one at all! I guess there are at least two people living inside me (at least!)

WE have a really GOOD artificial tree that does not shed or need water (but it does not have that great piney smell either). With the tree topper, it is easily 8 feet tall and 5 feet or so at the base.
Could never have a real one cause the ds has asthma---also I hate tossing the used trees in the street, it just makes me sad. So about 4 years ago, we ponied up for a very expensive fake one and I am very pleased with it....it really does appear "real". And we can enjoy it all month, w/o worry of it dying or becoming a tinder box.

I think that would be a wonderful solution, what I hate is coming across pine needles in JUNE - that never made it thru the vac...
I adore the smell though, it really does lift my spirits tremendously! (better than SOME smells in this dang house!)
The other thing is that I do the WHOLE THING by myself - get it, put it up, decorate, maintain, undecorate, dispose ... half the time I don't even WANT it
til I have it up (and then I'm like, "oh yeah, nice..."). Getting a tree under the power of resentment is so - WRONG, ya know?
Last year, at least, I found an AWESOME tree, reasonable price, and its proceeds went to the place where I bought it, a men's long term shelter. Which is two-fold, helping those in need and increasing the eligible single male population (LoL just kiddin).

For Christmas smells, I have found some excellent melting pods for my votive pot and candles and if I really want the place to smell good, then I break out the cookie and fudge making. It's the smell of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and vanilla that gets me going more than anything.

BACK TO FOOD.......for brkfst today, I ate one boiled egg and a cup of apple juice. For Lunch, I'm sitting here eating it now....a bowl of cereal. That's all that's hit my belly today folks. Now for dinner....I may order a pizza from Pizza Hut....the allllllllllllllllll meat kind 'cause I'm a "meat gal" myself...and fruit....not fruity......I said FRUIT, and a sprinkle of veggies, and lots of salad. :cheers:
well, i did it! i am spoiling myself for dinner. i just had delivered from pizza hut my all time favorite meat lover's pizza with mushrooms, pineapples, and black olives added to it. yum-yum-yummy in my tummy!
