Hey guys!

Just noticed this post and another so I just wanted to comment and wish y'all luck. I was literally in your seats a year ago. The wait sucks- I'm not going to lie lol. Best thing to do is try to go have fun while you can.

It's also a good thing this website already introduces y'all to one another and it makes the whole process less stressful. I don't know about y'all but having others who are going through the same thing as you is helpful. I met some really good friends through here before orientation even started. And that made orientation a lot more relaxing.

I don't know the new curriculum since it started in spring but I'm sure I could help with any questions y'all have. And if I don't know the answer I can definitely have a friend in the new curriculum join and answer some questions.

As for some questions y'all have already asked from above...

- If the school already has your transcripts on file, under your documents section in WebAdvisor then no you don't need to include that in your app. If you are unsure, just call the help desk and they'll give you a straight up answer to whether or not its on file. If you do call. Keep the time, date, and persons name you talked to. Better be safe than sorry ya know.

- You do not have to wait until your current spring 2018 final grades have posted to apply. as long as they are posted by the application deadline-which they are. The sooner you turn it in the better.

- Even if you don't know your gpa, the advisors re-calculate your gpa. They'll look at the pre-req GPA only. Then go to overall for ties.

Also, don't be discouraged if you call the school and they give you crazy info or numbers for the amount of applicants this term. I've never called but from what I've heard the numbers are always a little crazy. It's only when you get to orientation or actual class when you get to know the REAL number. The school just can't really give students definitive information during the process.

Anything else, let me know. :)

Thank you for that info! What was your acceptance GPA?

I was a 3.57 last fall... apparently that was a rare cut-off gpa. And the highest at that.

I believe previous semesters were around 3.3; don't hold me to that because I'm not 100%.

If you want definite numbers you can go see and advisor on campus and they actually have previous cut off years lists for all programs.

@jmcm1025 You are currently still in the program, correct? How is it so far? And thank you for the information

Yes, I started last Fall. I am currently finishing my second semester: Med-Surg I. Since I'm in the old curriculum, I'll be doing OB/Peds and Mental Health over the summer. That's going to be fun! I'll be finishing in December. So, I'll be starting my last semester when y'all start your first.

First semester is really an overload of information but as long as you practice your skills in lab and study everyday you'll be fine. I like to study alone but also like study groups too. I joined a few study groups until I found the right group of people to study with. They work really well for reviews before a test. Definitely study and know the material on your own so the study group can help in your weak areas. You will die laughing when you learn how other people remember things. It really goes a long way. Plus it makes it fun. As for any mini meltdowns, Yeah... I had 2 little ones my first semester. I just had to learn that it was/is ok to take breaks and enjoy life here and there. You need it to avoid burnout. As of right now, second semester- no meltdowns because I've found my groove. I hope I don't jinx myself since there are a few wks left in this term. Lol.

As for clinical days, they are fun! You need to keep yourself busy and make sure you tell your nurses you want to see it all! A lot of nurses enjoy the fact you want to learn and will teach you. It's when you'd rather sit and talk than help out where you don't learn... if you don't learn, it shows and your instructor will be on top of you.

You do not always change your clinical site every semester... I will be at my one site for 3 semesters. I know other students who have been to different hospitals every semester they've been in school. I love my location! and their cafeteria-great chicken wings! Lol.

Oh and each campus: DM, SS, and PC, all have their own SNA - Student Nursing Association. This is a club that basically helps you as a student and it's run by students. There is always 1-2 calculation reviews at the beginning of every semester. It helps a lot of students. SNA also does other things but y'all can figure that out later. Just know SNA is here to help. I started with SNA during my first semester and the upper students had some great advice! :)

I know I just wrote a lot. I'm not sure if it'll help but hey, at least you know. lol.

Thanks for the information! A lot of things I did not know or was not aware.

A friend confirmed that the current curriculum has changed from a 3 day a week class/clinical to 4 days a week. In an earlier post, I mis-typed the information -- just wanted to correct that!

Hi guys! Quick question...

I recently submitted my application last Thursday and I was wondering how long it took for everyone for it to show up under "my documents" on webadvisor?

I have this fear that my application will somehow get lost, bc it would be just my luck lol.

@Jmcm1025 Thank you for all that information!! It helps a lot, because I have gotten conflicting stories on whether I needed to turn in more official transcripts and how long to wait for the application. Getting excited!

I turned my application in on Feb 2nd and it wasn't until like two week ago that "my documents" changed. I know I turned it in hella early, but I didn't anticipate two full months for a status change.

@MPRN2020 Ah okay, thanks lol. I'm so nervous about my application, I've been stalking web advisor everyday.

I haven't even turned my application in yet. I'm so nervous. It'll be turned in prior to the deadline for sure though
