@niquamayers Yes, there's an evening cohort that has class around 5pm a few nights a week and clinicals on Saturdays.

@Js1125 I was in the afternoon cohort at Dale Mabry. First semester we had Fundamentals on Mondays from 1 to 5pm and Essentials and Critical Thinking Tuesdays until 1pm....I think. Then we had clinicals on Thursdays.

I picked: 1) Dale Mabry Nights 2) Dale Mabry Days 3) Plant City 4) Southshore At an orientation with the director of the program, she stated that Fall 2018 would only have night classes at the DM campus because the instructors didn't like having to drive back and forth to Plant City.

Supposedly they get upwards of 500 applicants for 150 seats.

I've started a mental countdown in my head. This wait has been nuts for me since I turned in my application in early February. My grades for Spring 2018 posted raising my overall GPA up to 3.72. I feel like I'm on the brink with a pre-req GPA of 3.67 so any amount of points helps. So 37 or so days to go before we find out. Good luck to everyone!!

Take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt since I have zero inside information, but I would think with a pre-req GPA of 3.86 you should be above the range of them having to look at your overall for a tie-breaker. I think only people like myself, with pre-req GPAs around the 3.5 to 3.6 mark will have our overall GPAs taken into consideration.

I turned my application in on Feb 2nd and it wasn't until like two week ago that "my documents" changed. I know I turned it in hella early, but I didn't anticipate two full months for a status change.

I think it's overall GPA from your entire college transcript.

@RHjen47 That's exactly what the director of the program said regarding the TEAS scores. She said they look to see that you got at least 60. Other than that it doesn't matter if you got a 61 or a 99. It's all based on pre-req GPA and overall as a tie-breaker.

Agreed about the lack of traffic for our semester. The Fall 2017 thread was super active.

Hello everyone, just an update. I turned in my application for Fall 2018 on February 2nd and just this morning I saw on web adviser in the My Documents section that they have started to process it. The only thing outstanding are my pre-req grades, which is weird because I took them all at HCC and that's where all my transcripts are from. My guess is that it's because the actually application deadline isn't here yet. I went to a short program giving my the director of the nursing program. She said they can have up to 500 applicants for only 150 seats. She said that they only look to see if you got at least a 60 on the TEAS any higher doesn't factor into whether you get accepted. Acceptance is based on what we all know: pre-req GPA and then overall GPA as a tie-breaker. She confirmed that the evening classes will be only at the Dale Mabry campus. She recommended that we brush up on A&P and critical thinking skills during the summer. "Nursing cannot be memorized." She also kept stressing the importance that we make sure we can make it to clinicals. She laid out the classes for each semester and said to be prepared for at least one test a week. Good luck to everyone. I'm so anxious.

@Savannaho Before you take A&P 1 and 2 over again, I would check with an HCC adviser. I remember some of the people in my A & P classes that were on the borderline between a C and D opting for the D so they would have the chance to retake the class. It gave me the impression that that's not an option it you get a C. I also thought I saw something about your pre-req GPA taking a hit if you took classes more than once. It's not like 3.4 GPA is crazy low; it's pretty good IMO. You might get lucky. Good luck!

I turned in my application today. Pre-req GPA 3.67; overall GPA the same. I got an 81 on the TEAS. I was a little disappointed when I realized that there wouldn't be any evening classes at the Dale Mabry campus, but I was planning on moving this summer anyway, so I guess I'll just move closer to Plant City now. Good luck to everyone applying.

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2018
I dropped off my application today so I'm in for a long wait. Now that the process has officially started, I'm so nervous. I have a 3.66 GPA on the pre-reqs, TEAS score of 87, and overall GPA of 3.68. I'm hoping it's enough. Seeing posts about Spring 2018 cutoffs and number of applications is stressing me out. Good luck to everyone.
