  1. I applied for Spring - DM nights. Mailed my application about 2 weeks ago, just waiting for the website to update to show they received it!
  2. No, if they have the scores/transcripts you do not need to resubmit.
  3. Good luck! As the deadline gets closer and closer it only gets more and more nerve wracking. Hopefully we can all take a breath in June, maybe sooner!
  4. Every MA job I have worked required phlebotomy. I can't of a specialty that wouldn't require the occasional blood draw - it's a MA skill. When I first started I had also only worked in class drawing blood on each other. I was not confident at all with drawing blood on a patient. I lacked confidence in my ability, it was intimidating. However, practice DOES make "perfect" and now I work in my office's lab drawing all day. I don't think a phlebotomy course is necessary. The best way, in my opinion, is to get in there and just do it. You're gonna miss, it happens - no one hits the vein every time. Some days I am 100% and other days I miss, sometimes the obvious, huge vein.
  5. Thanks for the information! A lot of things I did not know or was not aware.
  6. I would say that it is never too early to start studying for the TEAS. You want to make sure you have ample time to be comfortable with the material and then time to focus on your weak points prior to taking the exam. I found the ATI official study guide to be invaluable. It is a little dry, however reviewing that material along with the practice exam(s) on the ATI website were key. I also used the ATI app so I could practice on the go. I got an 84 on my first attempt. There are also free online quizzes through mometrix that were helpful.
  7. Super excited to log into HCC today and see my application was received and pre-reqs under review. I think the deadline to apply is May 15th, but I am so anxious this little update makes me squee!
  8. I'm not sure what the course number is for statistics, but this is the verbage from the transcript: Complete 3 credits from the following: MAC-1105 or higher level general education mathematics course.
  9. I sent my application in for Fall 2018 a few months ago. I got an 84 on the TEAS, my Pre-Req GPA is 3.5. So... hopefully! I'm wanting to do Dale Mabry evenings/weekends. Plant City would have been better, but they are not offering that anymore. Good luck!
  10. Hello there, first time poster, long time lurker I am applying for the fall 2018 nursing program at HCC. I finished my prerequisites last semester and passed the TEAS. I just need to mail out the application and start the waiting game(I hear it's fun!). Anyway, while it is early - the deadline is May - I thought I would chance seeing if there is any other interest in the Fall 2018 semester. :)
