I have been a PCT/RN for under a year....and yes. I am so guilty of this! My boyfriend won't even let me touch his arms if we are sitting watching a movie. He keeps them out of reach at most times because it is hard for me to keep from searching for a good vein!
Yep, same here. Sometimes I grab my husband's hand, start touching a nice bouncy vein and say, "Man..... I could get a sixteen in that sucker."
Just last night I looked over at my husband and saw four of the most beautiful big, buldging veins. I couldn't take my eyes off them. He, being him, thought I was giving him the 'come hither' look :)
When talking with my daughters when they notice a blank stare or my sentence trail off they yell "Momma! Really?! You are thinking about sticking a needle in my vein aren't you?!" HAHAHA.
I'll be at the gym looking in the mirror and between sets I'll think "I could so stick myself right now." I have decided that having my patients lift a few weights will make finding a vein so much easier.[/quote']Omg yes! I think we should try that! Although...if you miss anyways that gives them something really hard to hit you with! :s

Are you constantly checking out your neighbor's veins? How about when you are out shopping or on a vacation? Or, when viewing your favorite TV show? It's happened to quite a few people. Has anyone ever caught you in the act??
