GRU CNL PROGRAM 2016 admissions

Published

Hi, will anyone here be applying for the 2016 admissions for the CNL program at GRU in Augusta, GA?! If so could you share some of your career background/experience and stats! Also if some of you who are currently or have been in the program could give some input that would be awesome too!!

Specializes in ICU.

Thanks for that info! Did you receive the invitation before NursingCAS verified your information? NursingCAS still hasn't verified my information and they already confirmed they received everything they need from me.

Here is my timeline...hope this helps! This process is nerve-wracking, isn't it?!

August 30 - Completed and submitted application to NursingCAS.

September 23 - Application was verified by NursingCAS.

October 14 - Received an invitation to interview from GRU.

My interview is scheduled for this Friday, Oct. 23. Gulp.

Thanks so much. That is really helpful. Good Luck! I'm sure you will do great!

Thank you! Everybody, keep us all posted!

Good luck on your interview!!

I had to push my timeline back a little due to a family issue, so I won't be taking my MAT until November 28:( I think I must be overlooking a simple step, but where do you find the essay prompt?

Hi aglass0717,

That would be great! Can I email it to you? I can give you my email address if you don't want to post yours. Also, what was your word count? I've been told to keep it short and I've been told to do 50-75% of the max word count, so I'm not sure which one they prefer.

Thanks,

Dana

Sure, Dana! Send me your address and I'll email you mine.

Good luck on your interview!!

You've still got plenty of time! The essay prompt is in the program materials section under questions. Let me know if you find it!

FYI:

The area where you enter your essay is actually counting each character, not each word. I used the maximum words allowed. I think writing is one of my strengths so I tried to use the opportunity to show who I am. I carefully planned my word count but, when I copied the text it was over due to the difference between character/word count. I had to edit from that point. This info might help someone else who writes a longer piece.

In my opinion, the essay is our chance to be genuine. I tried to do a good job and highlight my strengths. However, I also tried to show my personality and "be myself."

Thanks aglass0714!

Hi guys :)

I submitted my application on NursingCAS today. I have a 3.4 undergrad GPA and a 4.0 GPA so far in my prereq courses. However, I did not do to hot on the GRE.....wondering how much that will effect my chances of acceptance. Any thoughts on that? Also, I see people are talking about a supplemental application. Is this something that is emailed to you or that you have to find and submit yourself?

Thanks

Emily Holsey has said they still don't have the supplemental application ready and she will send out an email when it is. Your GPA is good...did you meet the minimum requirement for the GRE? From what I understand, that's all they're really looking for as far as that goes.
