  1. Hi! I got accepted into CRNA school with PICU and CVPICU experience. My advice is to check the websites of the schools you are interested in and verify that the accept PICU experience. In general, PICU/CVPICU is preferred over NICU. Simply because NICU is so specialized and the learning curve is more steep. Also, get your ACLS. You will need it for school anyway.
  2. Hi! I wanted to offer some timeline and advice because it is FAR too early to get discouraged based on ONE timeline that happened last year for a different cohort. We learned of our school matches on 2/28. We just got back from simulation weekend and we are now on Spring break. That's a different timeline than the first cohort. Allow administration and faculty to get back to the regular swing of things. You're not missing out on anything, there isn't some penalty from finding out a week or more later than last year. I know as ICU nurses we are mostly type A so when something seemed to occur out of an order we aren't used to, it can lead to frustration and doubt. That's not the case here. They just got back from a conference, matches, and simulation and of course Case's own CRNA program. I get waiting makes one anxious, but don't psych yourself out here. The program starts in June. It's March. In the meantime, my advice would be to prep for interviews. These aren't "light" interviews y'all. Even if you don't get an interview with LEAP, prepping for CRNA interviews ahead of time will serve you well. They can literally ask you ANYTHING. You want to find out you got an interview and have a week to study everything or go ahead and start that process now? I'll tell you, this journey is all about staying ready. So my suggestion would be to study and get right. "Stay ready, never gotta get ready". : )
  3. I'm in the current cohort. None of us have deficits if I'm being honest. CRNA school is extremely tough to get into and even more barriers for minorities. Admission will depend on the strength of current applicants. Always put your best forward, don't dwell on what you think your weaknesses are.
  4. If you have specific questions, please feel free to PM. I'm in the program.
  5. It didn’t populate on facebook. Is the group searchable? Could you include a link?
  6. Y’all I’m drawing a blank on 4 schools. What were the schools we interviewed with? Feel free to PM me. I’m definitely still in shock and have some imposter syndrome right now. I checked the letter 5 times to make sure it was addressed to the right person LOL
  7. Does anyone have idea of how much the program costs?
  8. Let’s hope this week is the week we hear something!
  9. They found out I’m a CVPICU nurse and hit me with so many cardiac questions. After room one I was like “I must be stupid wow how embarrassing” LOL
  10. Gotcha! Okay I logged in and I don’t see anything as well. I hope we hear back this week!
  11. Where are you guys seeing a status change?
  12. I am not entirely sure. I looked her up and her face looks familiar to me. So it lends me to believe yes she was.
  13. I’m glad it’s over as well! I’m surprised by the number of schools they added! I felt like when they found out I was a CV nurse they really stuck the questions to me LOL some I didn’t know but I gave them my thought process for the ones I didn’t know which they seemed to be really receptive to. Hopefully we find out in the next week or 2!
  14. So glad the interview is over! How do you guys feel?
